Picking 8th vs 21st

We're not going to tank the season, we are just going to lose out because we are a horrible football team.

Who cares about the draft. I don't want RR to go beat some shitty teams, win a shitty division, and go one and done and have people falling back to back winning seasons and playoffs when any other year or situation where the NFC south was even a challenge or even a mediocre division RR would collapse as usual.

Nothing other than a playoff win this year would make me want River and Shula back, unfortunately some around here and JR have much lower standards and don't realize this poo division clouds their judgement.

Losing to me isn't about the draft, or playoffs, it's about RR not able to win a division where the leader is 4-7.

Those believing that there's litttle,or no difference in drafting 8th or 21st,if it were possible,could ask a team picking 8th ,if it would trade,even up, for the 21st pick,I expect you would get laughted out of the building. They may even have security usher you out, thinking you had a mental problem,one that could make you dangerous.

Just win baby. Picking in the 20's every year never seems to hurt the Patriots very much. Nor does always picking in the single digits seem to help the Raiders.

 

Having QB Tom Brady to build around and the fact he is cap friendly,enabling the Patriots to add quality free agents,really helps their cause.

yeah but its the 2nd rd pick that really is the key.  youre for sure to get a 1st rd player in the top of the second.   i want us to win out tho

Another reason I'm rather have that pick is picking ay the top of the other rounds vs the bottom

Afer we went to te Super Bowl we got gamble late at 28, deangelo hall went 8th. Almost a wash

Unless we are playing for the 1st pick and Andrew Luck is available it makes no sense to wish for losses in order to improve draft position. This upcoming draft is deep enough and we have enough holes to get a quality starter anywhere in the first round. In the end, it's still unlikely that we win the division anyway. This won't even be a debate in a couple weeks.

I just don't want at least Shula here after this season. Winning out means the whole coaching staff stays. You guys want more Shula ball? Or terrible game management from Rivera?

I hear ya.  I wont be terribly upset if we made the playofffs, because it probably doesnt make a huge difference in the draft.  That being said, if missing the playoffs leads to Dave G firing Rivera and bringing in an offensive minded NFL caliber coach, then lets miss the playoffs, because it will be in our best interest as an organization long term and might be what finally brings home the Lombardi.

One other point is do you want to pick 21st in the 2nd round or 8th in the 2nd round???  Just saying, its more than the first round that is affected by our draft position.  I guess I am pulling for the Saints to get embarrassed in the first round.  I will take the high draft pick and hopefully a Rivera and company exit.  In the event that we make the playoffs, I will pull loudly for our team to do the impossible and cheer just as if we were 16-0 going in.  I am a fan of this team no matter the record.
