Picking 8th vs 21st

Happy Panther

It's a very clear point. Thanks for playing.

That there hasn't been much of a difference between 8 and 21 over the past 7 years? That's completely irrelevant to next year. There are so many different factors and variables that are changing that none of those drafts or any other stats somebody could drum up have anything at all to do with next year's draft.

what fans want has nothing to do with what will happen.  You expect these players to play hard every snap until you want them to tank, you disappoint yourself on both sides.

The last two years I've heard, oh we have to trade up we can't possibly get a DT that's good enough at 14.

We have to trade up, nothing will be left at 28.

The people playing only have so much control on the outcome.  The people drafting have no control over who goes ahead of them.

I get what the OP is saying...  The draft is uncertain so why would we want the Panthers to lose just to draft higher?

Unfortunately the Panthers have too many 'holes to fill' with just the draft no matter where they pick next year.  While I agree with their strategy of building from the draft, I don't think they have done a good enough job drafting in order to be successful with this strategy. To fix the O-Line, secondary, & provide Cam with  more weapons, the Panthers will have to rely on more free agents signings next year.  And more than just 'cheap 1 year rentals'.  They will have to make some tough decisions this off-season.  And yeah I know about the cap issues....I'm tired of hearing that excuse.
