Happy Thanksgiving

Any update on your son Chaos?  Hoping that everything is OK.

Thanks for asking, and you as well Lola.  We had initially taken him home because we got the bleeding stopped and he seemed okay.  No urgent care was open anywhere because of the holiday, so I went to CVS and loaded up on supplies to try to close the wound and let it heal right.

That just wasn't working, so a nurse I spoke to said we should take him to ER to have it evaluated for stitches or glue.  They ended up using the glue which I was grateful for, and fortunately he slept through the whole thing like a trooper.

Today he's fine and acting himself, just with a bandage on his forehead.  It sure gave my wife and I a scare though.  My daughter is 9 and my son is 5, and we've never had to take either to an ER, so we were a bit panicked and inexperienced.

I appreciate the well wishes.

A little super glue will fix it every time.  My father is in the emergency response world, and I was extremely wild as a kid.  Can't tell you how many times it's been used on me.

Thanks Fuzz.  My wife's biggest concern was that it wouldn't leave a bad scar since it's right in the middle of his forehead.

Glad the little man is okay. Surprised the ER peeps let him sleep for fear of concussion symptoms.

Thank you.  Yeah the triage nurse on the phone said to keep him awake, but he hadn't shown any signs and the ER doc said it was fine.  The good news was, the next morning, he had no idea he'd been to the ER.  He was asleep at home when we took him, slept through the wait, the treatment, and the drive home and back to bed.  Woke up the next morning oblivious. lol

Common misconception.  One that I followed for years, not knowing that it may do more bad than good.

Head doc (my brothers, who has had far too many concussions) told me as long as pupils aren't dilated, and they somewhat know what's going on, let them sleep if they want to.

I had no clue.

    • Yeah I know, it would have to be like a first next year, a first in 2027, 2nd in 2026 and maybe a 4rth or something this year.  21 to 8 is a long way to move.  Maybe this is true I dont know, its lying season.   https://steelerswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/steelers/2025/04/02/2025-nfl-draft-espn-analyst-touts-shedeur-sanders-to-the-steelers/82779647007/   According to ESPN NFL draft analyst Matt Miller, Sanders should want to play for the Steelers and him making it that far would be a good thing for him and for Pittsburgh. Miller points to the Steelers run game and offensive line as reasons Sanders should want to play in Pittsburgh. Those are both fairly arguable points but the run game is going to need a serious overhaul after Najee Harris left in free agency. He also notes that Sanders is a good fit with head coach Mike Tomlin. If the Steelers do decide to target Sanders, they would almost certainly have to trade up ahead of the New Orleans Saints at a minimum. If the Steelers think he's the answer, it would be an expensive move to go up and get him.   For you guys keeping score at home, Saints are at 9, your carolina panthers 8.   Probably not feasible for either team but there is certainly a way to thread the needle and making it happen.  But it would have to be a poo load of capital and maybe a player or 2.    Maybe minka?
