How often will Shula try and stretch the field with Brown?

Watching the MNF game and wondering why we stop throwing the deep ball to Smitty, then I realize, Shula doesn't like the deep ball in fear of not staying on schedule.

Josh Norman told me Brown is the second fastest guy on the team behind Colin Jones.

Did not know jones ran a 4.34, why the hell hasn't he been on the field more?

Not only is he fast but he consistently has his nose around the ball on ST and Defense. At this point, his effort alone should should garner him more playing time.

Stretching the field may be the issue.

Go back and look at how the Pats handled the Lions pass rush in the first half. Quick passes and very short drop backs. That's smart football. We don't have a smart staff.

 

We were playing the short routes.   No one was getting separation.   Why Avant got the ax.  We have to spread it out a bit.  Our team was pretty easy to defend.  Lock up the running game and play tight man to man coverage for a few seconds.

 

Hopefully Brown changes that.  Even if he doesn't catch them all.  The threat of him blowing by someone will make the defense open up a bit.
