Black Friday

The biggest problem with black friday is it's become a phony event. Those super cheap TVs are manufactured specifically for black Friday with missing features and inferior components. Most of the sales are nothing you couldn't get on Amazon for a similar price 52 weeks a year. You have to wait in line for hours to get one of the really good deals which begs the question, why no just work a few extra hours?

Smart tv's are overrated anyways. The interface is slow. Much better off to get an Apple tv

Agree to disagree.

If you have parents/grandparents/significant others that aren't very tech savvy it can become a nightmare of phone calls explaining how to "make it work".

I prefer to spend a little extra and it's a one click deal, especially for the older folks.

I think you are both right to a degree.  I was in the market for a 65 inch Smart TV last year for our living room.  I knew what I needed and started looking around.  Decided to wait til the Black Friday deals came out and ended up picking up a Samsung which I am extremely happy with.  It had a few less features (HDMI, component inputs, etc...)  than the regular model but it met my needs for what I wanted to do with it.  I am not a gamer and I basically use it for Netflix with the kids and normal television.  Ended up saving about $350.00 after all was said and done.
