Jurassic World

Why do so many movies have gentically modified aninals that fug us up. Get a new storyline

I'm tired of the ancient civilization building things that will destroy the entire world. I'm sure I could build a nuclear reactor that doesn't mean I should.

Does anyone know if I need a visa for Iran?

Why the hell did they go down the road of "genetically altered super monster"!?!!1!? That is a fugging SyFy channel movie!

I mean, come on. How friggin' hard is it to make a Jurassic Park sequel? The premise is already perfect. Humans bring dinosaurs back to life with science and think they can control them, but are proven wrong with deadly consequences. It's already perfect! But instead of using an already established framework they decided to take the whole, "Man plays God with science" conceit waaaaaaay too literally and makes a genetically engineered super monster? WTF? You already have the monster from a miracle of science. YOU HAVE FUGGING DINOSAURS! Why do you need to complicate it?

Next year, be sure to look out for "Jaws 4: A Giant Shark with a Laser on its Head."

Or "George Romero Presents: Death Race of the Dead: This time zombies drive souped up death mobiles!"

Or "The Bourne Revelations: He remembers who he is and had a mecha suit to take out the president and his ninja assassins."

You don't need to shake up the whole formula when you've got something that works!

And as for the comment about there being way too much CGI, you're absolutely right. There are no practical effects, and it shows. The problem with just filming these action films on a green screen and doing everything in post is it gives the actors NOTHING to work with! Look at the aforementioned Raptor/Motorcycle scene. Notice how Chris Pratt doesn't react at all to the Raptors running by him. Because there's nothing there to look at while he's filming. And as a result it looks totally fake. Even if they are like sheep dogs used for herding, and Pratt is used to seeing them, if your sheep dog runs by you, you still glance at it, react to it in some way. Do something. You don't just stare blankly ahead like you don't realize the director called "Action."

When they shot the original Jurassic Park, they told the actors to react to imaginary dinosaurs around them. Then the animators went in and created dinosaurs on their sight-lines, so it looked like they were reacting to seeing something.

I guess that was too much trouble this time around, what with the miracle of computer graphics and all. And that's the problem. It used to be CGI supported the actors, now the actors have to work around the CGI. And it shows in a big way. And no matter how good computer graphics get, without practical special effects for your actors to play off you will never get a reaction like this:

Of feel like the characters are in real peril like this :

The end result of these marvels of computer animation is the movie has no soul.

Not to mention the 2:07 Mark, which it TOTALLY a rip-off of Aliens:

I'm so sorry for the rant. I'm just really upset by this because it's something I was really looking forward to. This is just bad, lazy film making. I'm truly crestfallen at what I've seen in the trailer.

Bravo cap. Bravo.

Saw it this afternoon. It was good, not great, still the 2nd best Jurassic Park movie.

I think they could have toned it down on some of the comedy parts. I know this movie is still trying to cater towards kids, much like the first one, but parts of it just came off really corny. The slow-mo raptor towards the end comes to mind. And yeah, the CGI wasn't anything amazing.

Overall it was entertaining, with some decent fan service for fans of the original.

Feel bad for that hot brunette...

    • His o loaded with swift, dj, Keenan and Rome was inconsistent at best. The d was bad. And the game management was atrocious and lost them games.  He was terrible and made the team worse. I wish they kept him
    • That is my point.  I think teams make a huge mistake when they pay their decent to average QBs top QB money because they feel that they have to match the market or lose their investment--There is no way, for example, that Tua or Prescott or Murray should all be making more than Mahomes--I mean, Dak makes $15m per season more than Mahomes. People say, "Well, when its his turn...." But that is not how it should be--so my point was that Bryce can be doing mediocre to good enough in 2 years, but the way it is going, you have to pay him at the starting QB rate--currently $60m.  So even if you think he will continue to improve, at $60 m, he would eliminate any chance for a ring---so my view is, if he is not elite, you cut him.  So you draft QBs now and see what you can make of them.
    • With two 4ths and three 5ths I’m hoping we can kill it on adding depth. Take a gamble with the two 7ths.  First 3 picks id love to address the defense. I expect Tuttle, Robinson, and Jewell to all be on the 2025 roster but not after that. Be a good time to add depth and let them develop a year.
