Just three

Name three current NFL head coaches you would rather have LESS THAN Ron Rivera and why. (Edited for some, lol)

What NFL head coach makes you say, "I'm glad Rivera is my coach instead of that guy"?

Can you think of three?

I can't think of any. Maybe Mike Smith in Atlanta because of his whiny face and how he never seems to be in control of anything going on. I think Rivera has more influence over the mindless things his team does than most people think based on this...

i honestly don't know...the 2 that have been repeated here have had a lot more success than Ron (Mike Smith and Rex Ryan)...both have multiple playoff berths and Rex was in the AFC Championship game twice with Sanchez at QB...

Ron hasn't had much success as a head coach

John Fox, Rex Ryan, Mike Smith, Andy Reid, Jason Garrett, Pete Carroll (he may have just won a Super Bowl but I don't like him), Tony Sparano (interim coach but still the coach), and Jay Gruden. I'm sure there are others but I'll stop here.

*Edit* These are the coaches I would rather have Rivera over. I thought that was the question. Looking back at OP, it isn't clear.

Are the people saying Jason Garrett making a joke? He is the definition of a mediocre HC.

2012

2011

Wow, much want.

Ron Rivera

Overall (counting this year) 28-30-1

2013

12-4

2012

2011

At least Ron has shown some growth unlike Garrett

Reading comprehension...It was clear. You just read what you were used to seeing.

    • he averaged 2 yards in YAC per reception last year.  He can't generate quick separation.  He was debating retirement last year.    Yet we championing him as some great option.  AT is a savvy vet we force feed the ball too......on a team starved for basic offense the last couple seasons.  We overrated AT.  Which is why some freak when people like JT on his podcast point out the painfully obvious about him.
    • The Athletic has us ranked 28th on their post-draft power rankings, mainly due to us picking T-Mc instead of defense in round 1. They recognize we needed WR help, but... https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6317651/2025/04/29/nfl-power-rankings-post-draft-rookies-eagles-chiefs-bills/
    • I mean, he is a slot technician.  That's what he does.  So, in a good offense, you would be trotting him out there on 3rd downs and situationally.....to not take what they give him but to move chains.  It's a niche.  AT hasn't threatened defenses in years.  Last time we saw Renfrow on the field he averaged..... 6 yards YAC per catch.  Adam Thielen last year averaged....2 yards in YAC per catch last year.  I still contend in reality, AT isn't a slot WR.  Not in reality.  He is an aging rec TE.  And those aren't the same thing.  AT simply can't generate quick separation or provide YAC.
