A mid round prospect I've fallen in love with

There's a good 8 or 10 WRs in this class that would beat Cotchery for the #2 spot day one. Hardy is among them.

edit: caveat - not considering Rivera's loyalty to vets

if Stephen Hill is ready to go, like Rivera claims, we good on receivers. let the battle for slot receiver be between Cotchery, Brown, Ginn and Bersin. I have a feeling that Hill can be our #1b opposite KB...but only if he has been coached up by Prohel.

keeping fingers crossed that Hill can bring as much, if not more than any receiver we could bring in as a rookie.

not to mention the timing and chemistry that most certainly been developed between Himself and Cam.

I could see us drafting a slot receiver to clear out the middle linebackers against opposing coverages...but I can't see us using a top-3 round pick on a slot receiver when we need to strengthen our defense across the board.

I think the Stephen Hill speak is rhetoric to talk up the players. Not sure that will come to fruition. I think the WR and OT classes are similar. There are a few top tier guys then there is everyone else. I would not mind a mid round wideout though.

Greg Gabriel, who was a scout for Giants 1985-2001 before spending 9 years as Director of College Scouting for the Bears (2002-2010):

"his 3-cone time was outstanding (6.63)... good vertical jump (36”)... long arms (32”) which allows him to play taller. ... runs good routes... has outstanding hands and consistently makes the difficult catch. He is tough and courageous and has no problem competing for the ball in traffic .... After the catch, he is a strong runner who gets what is there and then some. ... You seldom find receivers with more production ... had a good week in Mobile at the Senior Bowl. ... you would think that he would be a premium round draft choice, but in this case, I don’t think that will happen. ... He ran a 4.56 ... With wide receiver being a stop watch driven position, Hardy will probably be a mid-round pick. ... He may not get drafted until the third or fourth round, but I believe he will outplay his draft position. Some team will be very happy with this selection."
