Bye week blues (piling on)

I don't care what anyone says. Fox is a good coach. We were lucky to have him. The best QB we gave him was Jake. Jake was a warrior and a hell of a leader, but not the greatest QB. Then we have him pickles.

He did have an incredible defense and some very good WRs and RBs. But I always liked Fox. He wasn't so much to blame for our struggles. And he did lead us to a Superbowl and an NFC championship game...

fox bawled like a baby when jake was released dude.  he kept starting him when he was playing like absolute garbage.  this idea that i keep seeing that delhomme was forced on him by hurney is bizarre.

fox is the epitome of a steady as she goes, stay the course, keep playing my boys NFL head coach so yeah, he deserves blame for the run of mediocrity after 2005.  how many times did promising young players ride the bench so some entrenched veteran could keep getting snaps?  remember deangelo williams riding the pine behind defumbles foster for a season and a half?

lmao @ the Fox fanbase, although very tiny, coming out of the shadows.

it's like some bizarro version of the huddle where john fox, the guy who would have run the wildcat as a base offense if he could, was actually chip kelly or some poo and was just being oppressed here.

you know why we never had a blue chip quarterback prospect or a high flying offense during his tenure?  it was by freaking design-fox has gone on record that developing quarterbacks takes too long and isn't worth it.

the guy did every last thing that people hate rivera for, he just had the super bowl trump card so his seat was never really all that hot

playing for field goals, starting try-hard rudys over more talented players because they hustled to practice, blaming "execution" when the offensive and defensive playcalling made it seem like the coaching staff really might not have known what team the panthers were playing that week?  yeah that happened during those golden fox years too and the huddle went ballistic over it week in and week out.

So the sarcastic comment about Fox is what jumps out at people here?  My god, some of you are pathetic in your urge to flame people.  That insecure in real life or something?

I thought the point was that our current coach has not only never won a game after a bye week, we've typically gotten blown out.  That's what jumped out at me, not Fox's record and whether or not he really wins with Manning (or The Golden Calf of Bristol for that matter).  Even last year we lost to a .500 Arizona team by a score of 6-22.  What the hell is behind that?  It's not necessarily the quality of opponent (Tennessee, Dallas, and Arizona), and it's not like he's playing teams that are also coming off a bye.

This year was the first for Ron where he won his opener.  Maybe it will be the first where he wins after a bye.  But seriously, how has he managed to be so bad with an extra week to prepare?

In fairness to Fox, he did make the playoffs, and won a playoff game with The Golden Calf of Bristol. So you gotta give him credit for that (mind you what he did before or after). How many coaches would have won a playoff game with The Golden Calf of Bristol (regardless of how it happened/they got there)?

Because Rivera is not an NFL Head Coach. You know that.

Too much time, probably just allows more scenarios to pop in his head (which are probably wrong), and for him to crap the bed in anticipation.

The problem with Rivera is he does the exact same thing year after year. Rivera has reverted to the same spineless coach. He plays not to lose and doesn't have the heart or faith in the team he coaches to play to win.

He has gotten blown out after each of his first three bye weeks.I guarantee you he isn't changing or tweaking his approach towards getting his team ready.

He talks about creating a winning culture but his actions tell a different story. Rivera wants to compete not win.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
