I'm not convinced we are going to get a new head coach but if we do I wonder how much Cam's contract will play into the decision process. I'll try to explain.

The single biggest decision this franchise has ahead of it is whether or not to open up the bank for Cam. Whether we tag him or sign him long term we are about to have to commit a very large percentage of our cap to him.

If there is any doubt at all, whether or not he is the long term answer, wouldn't it make sense to surround him with proven offensive coaches? This would just remove one variable in the evaluation process.

Umm yes

That's why although you may not be convinced due to this team lackluster ownership and management, anybody can see clearly Rivera is not the answer, if not for EVERY THING else, one thing is Cam development. We need somebody that knows about development of QBs

No....he sucked at Houston.

Well then you probably wouldn't be too interested in this guy, either.

Went 36 and 44 in his first stint as a head coach, and that was done playing in a usually lousy division.  Had only one winning season out of four seasons coached.  Did win one playoff game that year, but was out the following week.

That guy would probably suck, right?

Like others said Kubiak.. does not seem to be an upgrade..he ran Houston to the ground

You should look up the records of some successful head coaches on their first try.

A fair number of guys who aren't so great in their first gig look pretty good in their next.

One of Gettleman's old colleagues is a good example.  His first head coaching job was with the Chiefs.  In five years, he compiled only one winning season (not good enough to make the playoffs though) and an overall record of 31-42.

Marv Levy's next job worked out a little better though.

Appreciate the info but Kubiak does not give me that warm feeling or excitement but I could be wrong,,but that could just be the state I am in until I am sure Rivera is fired..as I do no think anything will change even if we bring in a new OC if Rivera's at the helm.. I am just numb now to this season and have no faith in the coaches!

Nope, and Kubiak was actually better in his 1st stint.

I think he was like 59-53 plus a couple Playoff wins before everyone got hurt and he was fired mid-season the last year.

Foxy was 73-71 wasn't he?
