Tom Coughlin revisited

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

No thanks.  I want a hungry, young, creative offensive mind.  I know the offensive part will likely not happen but if we can get the other three we could be in business.

Those are my exact thoughts. I want young, fresh leaders at all personel levels, aggresive people, with active minds when relating to football matters. I want people that have the desire to excel and aren't afraid to gamble and try out new ideas.

I agree as well. Between JR and Gettleman, we have a lot of age in the front office. It's time to bring in some youth to balance things out.

A front office job isn't a reduced role.  Technically his current job is a reduced role from what he had before.

Check the OP again.

As far as the head coach goes, if Rivera is gone I think there's a good possibility of Gary Kubiak getting another shot as a head coach with us.  That, or maybe Kyle Shanahan getting his first opportunity.  I would mind the influence of a guy like Coughlin on either of them.

Kubiak wouldn't be the worst thing for this football team, however I would like to see Clements, with possibly Trestman as his OC.

No No and No on Coughlin.

The only way I would want him; if it guarantees Rivera leaves.

Yes he's one two Superbowls, But he's too inconsistent. And his players have either loved or hated him.

Obviously, they love him, when they're winning. When they don't he becomes intolerable (though he claims he's adjusted).

I think the Panthers (and Cam), need someone a bit younger, more dynamic, and with fresher ideas.

You realize, as has been said numerous times in this thread, that we're talking about him in a personnel role, not as a coach, right?

It's only been said here about a half a dozen times, and yet somehow people still think we're talking about him as a coach

No I didn't. :startle:

Guilty! :phew:

Usually, I tried to read through a thread. But not this one. Lol.

Okay/Thanks.

PS: What role in personnel, considering Gettleman's already a GM?

Personally, I'd still pass for many of the same reasons (particularly needing a young, more innovative, flexible football mind) I stated earlier.
