Update: I cancelled the order and reordered it and a geforce 970 vid card from BH Photo. I saved 5% using google wallet. :)

Been looking for a month for a new monitor.  Wanted to get something on the bleeding edge.  Will be trying out 4K gaming for sh!ts and giggles.  When I saw this Black Friday Preorder sale.  It was a no brainer.  Basically $400 off.  The deal is going to be on many sites, Newegg, Amazon, Crutchfield to name a few.  I went with newegg to save on tax, yes I know, amazon is Zods thing but I like not paying tax more. :)

If you are wondering, yes it has HDMI 2.0 ports to do 4k@60hz

Yes they were. I had moved like a year ago and wanted to get a new TV. The one I was looking at was around $4,000.

That's not what I meant. I know they were for sale at $4,000, but nobody was buying them. If they were, they wouldn't be $600 now.

I can put a $50,000 price tag on my old pickup. Doesn't really mean much.

I've never seen one in person but can someone enlighten me as to why 4k is?

A better resolution than 1080p.

90% of content isn't even available in 4k yet, and won't be anytime soon.

Unless you are within 2-3ft of the screen and have 20/20 vision or better, your eyes cannot detect a difference between 1080p and 4k.
