Got a raise that I have been negotiating on for a while...may buy a Jeep

Just a little early Christmas gift to myself.

Looking for something between 2000-2007, Wrangler, Manuel, with the I6.

Do I need it....nope, but this has been in the works everyday for a year...think I will spoil myself a bit.

Congrats on the raise....and enjoy the Jeep.

the first car i bought was a 2001 jeep my junior year of high school. rocked that bitch, grill guard, light guards, badass roof rack, 2 12 inch subs with a 100 watt amp and traveled all over the country with it and camped out in it a ton. 200k miles at the end, thing was a champ.

just upgraded to the subie world. i still miss the poo out of that jeep. best car evaaaaaa

The newer version of the inline 6 is an exceptionally reliable engine. The 4.0 version intro'd in 1991 and used until about 2000 (not sure of the last year), not so much...

The 4.0 inline 6 debuted in 1987 and is one of the most reliable engines ever built, they frequently make it past 300k miles.

Partially correct. Jeep debuted a 190-HP version in 1991, which I was speaking of.

Same motor only minor changes, most of which were improvements. chrysler fuel injection instead of renault/bendix, and different camshaft for a bit more power. These are still near bulletproof engines. My sister sold a 97 recently with 240k miles on the original engine and transmission. It still ran quite well.

Subaru is probably the best bang for buck when looking for a car

$20k Impreza? Arguably. $40k STi? Hell no.

VW TDI are probably the best bang for your buck right now. You can get a brand new 50mpg turbo diesel Jetta for $16,000, and they're very reliable. You just have to turn in your balls at the dealership.

Sti is a sports car pretending to be a sedan. My brother gets like 700 miles per tank in his tdi

My friend has an STI and my dad had a WRX the day they hit the US. Fun cars.

I had a GTI until last month (totaled it) and it was much, much nicer. Felt like a 100k car in comparison. They don't even compare in my eyes. Ridiculous gas mileage. I can't imagine the TDI

I just replaced it with a 2001 4runner. I love these cars but really fuging miss the volkswagen

I had a 93 Cherokee that I loved but was a thief magnet.

The newer Wranglers look sharp.

My 97 4runner is paid off and about to hit 250k. It's just getting started. So I will have to wait for a Jeep.

Although make fake midlife crisis car is a 65 Rivera.
