I like this 6-win scenario a little better. Can lose to both the Saints and Falcons on the road.

Carolina or New Orleans will host a playoff game with 5-7 wins. That's reality.

Can you imagine if we've got a home playoff game at 5-10-1 while a 10/11 win Seattle or Dallas team misses the playoffs? Watching the heads of Cowherd, Bayless, etc explode would be worth it all. Oh, the remarks they'd make about Carolina and Cam.

Might be an NFL first in many, many ways... including being a playoff team with a top 5 draft pick.

 

That being said, there's actually more long-term good that can come from a horrible, losing season than there would be if the team finished strong.

 

 

If by some miracle the Panthers made the playoffs, they would probably be drafting around 21st. They would draft after the non playoff teams, even though the Panther had a worse regular season won-loss record.

As long as we don't have an 5 INT game like in 09 against the Cards, I would take any post season games. That game was the low point for me in Panthers history, I like Jake but man did stink that day.

 

It's possible that this team improves with the players they have now and can create some havoc in the playoffs- why the hell wouldn't we support them, are that pissed that getting into the post season would be disappointing?
