They won't do that, that would defeat the purpose of divisions. Why not just abolish conferences and take the top 12 teams at that point? 

 

They'd likely just change it to make home teams be decided by record, not division win. That would be much more fair and protect the division system the NFL likes.

 

They'll increase the number of playoff teams before they do anything of that sort.

 

The Falcons have probably won their last game for the season. I think the competition at this point will be between us and the Saints and I give them the edge over us because of Drew and Sean.

Might be an NFL first in many, many ways... including being a playoff team with a top 5 draft pick.

 

That being said, there's actually more long-term good that can come from a horrible, losing season than there would be if the team finished strong.

IMO Gettleman and Rivera have essentially the same goals here. I don't see anything happening this season.
