I hate Utah.

Lance and/or Al would be better suited as a complimentary piece alongside a real star like LeBron, Durant, Duncan, Dirk, etc. they are simply not good enough to the "the man" on any team.

MJ blew the team up in '09 because they were a .500 1st Rd team at best. After everything we've endured, we are right back where we started.

I agree with everything except the "we are right back where we started" part. I think we are younger, more talented, a most importantly, have more flexibility, then we did in 09.

That being said, you're right, I don't see Big Al being a number 1 option on a contender or Lance being a number 2 option on a contender.

This doesn't need a complete blowing up, just a re-tooling a la Rudy Gay and the Raptors. The problem is we can't move offseason acquisitions until mid-December. Try to get rid of Lance and Marvin and play more Neal, Hairston, Vonleh and Zeller and I think things would definitely turn around.

Two guards who always need the ball in their hands plus a center who always needs the ball to be effective doesn't work. That's why Lance actually looks better on the second unit than he does on the first.

I agree with this.  At this rate Cho needs to look to make a big move soon.  Our offense is just awful right now and Clifford should be able to fix this.  I want to see more young, raw lineups out there where no one is really 'the guy' (I mean Kemba would probably be the go-to) and the team works the ball around for good shots. Right now I wanna see less Al and Lance and more PJ, Vonleh, Zeller, Biyombo, MKG, etc.  Call me crazy.

In a few months I could look dumb for saying this, it's so early this team could still figure it out.

You can't take out your best offensive weapon for downgrades and unknowns but what you can do is build the roster around him to better suit what he does. As difficult as it is to watch, this is still Al-fense.

My take: Get Kemba and Lance off the same rotation and the same for Marvin and Al. That's where the Hornets are getting exposed offensively and defensively respectively.

Kemba/Lance/Roberts/Pargo

Hairston/Neal/Henderson

MKG/Taylor/Henderson/ (Hairston here until Taylor comes back)

Zeller/Marvin/Vonleh/Maxiell

Jefferson/Biyombo/Zeller

Allows us to play to Lances ball handling strength and get him moving off the ball without Al to worry about. Also some shooters for him to kick to.

Makes Roberts and Maxiell specialists with minimal minutes.

Good balance of offense and defense on first and second units.

And most importantly it gives us the first unit that was so successful last season. A few minor changes, but Hairston brings the catch and shoot improvement from Hendo that last team always needed and you can tell even though he doesn't look as good as McBob did that Cody learned alot from him. He is capable of being a starter.

The Bobcats/Hornets always get these rugged players. We never land any pure basketball players the way we did when we had Schinn and the other guy. They had an knowledge of the game and could spot a talent. Too bad they never broke the bank to keep anyone though.

Gerald Wallace was just the same. Guys who you expect to miss.

Lance is already giving his teammates death looks when they grab a rebound he wants or miss a shot and cost him an assist.

You think he's gonna be happy coming off the bench or playing 90% of his minutes with the 2nd team? Lol no chance. You're right, but no chance.

Well if the whole idea in choosing Charlotte over Indiana was for him to "bet on himself" and he can't put that attitude aside for a situation that would actually showcase him better then he stands to lose a ton of potential money on his next contract.

I'm in this thread to say that Utah is great. Well, the state. Sweet National Parks, kick ass ski resorts, etc. Well ... ok, not Salt Lake City. That was one of the most strangest places I've ever been. The whole town was quiet, almost zombielike. Mormons, lol. Oh, this thread is about the Jazz? Hmm ... Karl Malone and John Stockton were rad. Since then, who cares.

Utah as a vacation spot? Amazing.

Utah as a residency? Terrible.

Which is why he gets pissed when that stuff happens. He isn't worried about winning, he just wants to put up big numbers on a stat sheet. If he wanted to win he would've stayed in Indy.

It's just a terrible fit. I didn't know why Charlotte signed him, and still don't.

I'm starting to think Cho signed him strictly as an asset and will move him this year. A lot of teams did not have the cap space to go after Lance, and others couldn't have lured him away from Indy as cheap as Charlotte did. It would be a pretty shitty thing to do on a personal level, but rather smart on the business side.

Stephenson has a ton of value with his current contract.

They lost relevance after they chose a petulant slightly above average PG over their hall of fame head coach.
