Gordon Heyward would've made Charlotte a legit contender. He was exactly what we needed. Instead we're stuck with a flashier version of Gerald Henderson.

Lance is at best an average defensive player. He will make one or two great defensive plays a game but he also plays lazy and gets beat a ton.

Lance is the worst shooter (among guards) in the NBA. He cannot shoot. He's even worse than Gerald. Go ahead, look it up for yourself. Last year he shot around 15% from outside of 4 feet from the basket. That is God awful. All of his points come from driving.

Lance is a terrible ball handler. I don't care that he can dish out 5-7 assists a game. He also consistently turns the ball over 2-3 times a game. And they are usually boneheaded, stupid plays. He forces passes, dribbles off his feet, and makes flat out idiotic decisions with the ball in his hands.

Lance is a deceiving rebounder. Half of his rebounds come from jumping in front of teammates who are in position. A lot of Indy fans claim this caused friction with Hibbert & West last year. They said Stephenson basically stole rebounds from them to pad his score card. I thought it was stupid claims, but it might be true. Jefferson's rebounds are down nearly half of his career average. Countless times I've seen him ready to grab a board then Lance comes flying in and steals it. MKG is a great rebounding wing player. He will hustle for loose balls or box guys out, not cherry pick them over teammates.

Lance is fool's gold. He's just not a very good player. He's inconsistent. He's flashy. He's entertaining. He will put up a gaudy stat line across the board. But he is in-efficient and a poor shooting SG. He needs to play on a team that has a lot of outside shooting. Lance & MKG are a terrible fit, and Lance won't win that battle if the team chooses to keep only one of them.

This experiment won't end well. I love watching Lance play, he's flashy and entertaining, but he isn't gonna win games.

It isn't exactly that Lance is a bad player more than its that none of these players compliment each other.. or even really fit together. We could make a trade like Toronto made last year and become a playoff contender easily.

Sadly Dex, I have to agree with your assessment of his play. What I won't get on board with is that you can't win with him...

But this is why I said despite being a fan of his game, I didnt prefer him as a FA target. Yes, he fills the start sheet, but look at how he does it. He dominates the ball to the point that he is bound to get some sort of stat each possession. I said it in one of the game threads earlier in the season (it was actually a game where Lance gave up the game winner, but I can't remember to who right now ), but Lance doesn't get his stats or triple doubles in an unselfish manner. It is VERY selfish... I remember seeing him pass it to a guy on the wing early in the clock and then completely castrated him after the wing passed it for not shooting it. He wanted the assist.

And yes, he does the same with rebounds... One of the last ones he got tonight was a prime example, two Hornets sitting underneath it, the pacers already headed up the floor, and Lance basically comes in and teabags his teammates, grabs the board, slaps the ball aggressively, and let's out a huge scream as he comes to the floor. I was thinking, "wtf are you doing?" then one of the next rebounds, I think AL grabbed it from him, already in position, and Lance landed awkwardly and then looked pissed off that AL didn't let him have it.

Its tough, but I'm still hoping for the best...

Too early to be judging Lance here, or saying Hayward would've made Charlotte a contender.

But I originally wanted Hayward instead for a reason (though I'd rather have Lance's contract on the books). Lance is Lance, you just have to take him for what he is. Some nights, a crazy talented player. Some nights, a headache.

Lance and/or Al would be better suited as a complimentary piece alongside a real star like LeBron, Durant, Duncan, Dirk, etc. they are simply not good enough to the "the man" on any team.

MJ blew the team up in '09 because they were a .500 1st Rd team at best. After everything we've endured, we are right back where we started.

But I cant knock them for it... They're trying, and thats how it is for 90% of the NBA, unless you hit on that superstar in the draft.

Jesus guys reading the poo on here lately is ridiculous. We're 12 games in with some injuries. Look at Cleveland. Their fans must be even more irrational and irate. It takes longer than 12 games to build solid chemistry.

People seemed way more rational when we were the Bobcats.

Cleveland has the two best players in the world. I think it's obvious they will be fine. That's an apples and oranges comparison.

No it's not. This team at best starting the year was a 5 or 6 seed and nothing has changed. Cleveland is a championship contender but doesn't look like one right now.

Point I am trying to make is everyone needs to just calm the fug down.
