Hornet vs Pacers Game Thread

I was thinking the same thing tee, but I've progressed from that and have moved onto the idea of this being a broken team.

I don't think it's chemistry anymore. These guys just don't fit together.

Heat were a way better team when big 3 got there, but it took them until the playoffs to figure out how to play together.

They won despite themselves because they were so talented, but still struggled and looked sloppy much of the season.

We are in a similar situation but on a much lower and less talented scale. We have to keep our head above water, but the chemistry will develop.

We will get better as season goes on. But we can't get too far behind.

Plus our schedule has just been brutal this early part of the season with so many games and travel in short amounts of time.

But they better figure it out quick or we will have lost too much ground

If you look at this roster for the Long haul...you have to look at this without an emotional connection to prob my all time fave Bobcat player and current Hornet.

A certain unnamed PG is just not efficient enough in terms of playmaking, finishing ability, defense, jump shooting, 3 point shooting to play 30+ minutes a night. He is a major weakness when finishing games.

In the Portland game we lost that 4th Qtr bc that PG was on the same side as Al..the double went hard on AL..any pass to that PG was dribbled on the baseline and only a flailing, fade away was able to be mustered by him...no real offensive threat was on the same side.

I am positive if we had Gary Neal making the entry on the same side the double would have not been so effective...and Neal could get his jumper off in traffic or get fouled..which Neal is better at as well.

I know there is a vocalized hate for that PG from one of my least favorite unnamed posters here but...these are the reason I feel that the unnamed PG is limiting this teams future. Backup point...sure... Starter getting big money...uh....no.

They will figure it out. Lots of new parts, no chemistry yet. It takes time, and certainly longer than 12 games

But they need to tread water while they develop or else it will be too late. Right now they are sinking.

I think they will get better as season goes on.

need to be above .500 around 30th game.

I tend to agree. Hayward's shooting and creating was much needed. He has a rare skill set. It's why he and Parsons got the max.

I wish we could trade for him. Our team has to make a trade. I am scared to trade away our draft picks because you never know how bad the season can get but we have to get some offensive minded players.

Maybe we will get better when MKG comes back. I know we have a lot of key players that have had injury problems this season and getting them healthy will really help. Even healthy I think we are still one guy away from being a top 4 team in the east.

Good thing about the NBA is you can protect your picks. Hopefully if we go after someone it's for someone that fits well. We need a wing that can shoot very well and create his own shot. There are like 10 of those guys in the NBA.

Which is sad. Guys today don't know how to shoot. AAU ball wrecked basketball and youth development.

I didn't really think about it like that but you're right. What are the wing guys that can shoot a high percentage and create (aside from superstar offensive players like LeBron, Melo, etc.)?

I've got Hayward, Parsons, Klay Thompson as the ones with size. That's all I got that for the mold for big wing guys that can shoot and create for others consistently. Notice all of them are on a max deal (Parsons isn't really, but it's close enough).

I mean, yeah, we missed Neal and MKG.  But half of Indiana's roster is hurt, including their best players.  So I'm not about to roll out that excuse.  That was a piss-poor loss to an undermanned team where we had a big lead.  IMO, that falls on coaching.  And I like Clifford.  But that can't happen.  Our offensive sets down the stretch were garbage.

When I posted that....

RH: +6 +/-

AJ: -9 +/-

RH: 6-11 Fg, 16 Pts, 11 Reb, 2 Ast, 1 Blk

AJ: 7-14 FG, 18 Pts, 4 Reb, 2 Ast

....homers gonna homer

If you've watched the game and think Hilbert is out playing him I don't know what to tell you. But then again your also the one that brought the ridiculous college "hater" into this thread. So yeah.

I apologize for being an asshole last night. I wasn't the most sober ever, and watching Carolina sports has been quite frustrating recently. We're all good, you proved you know way more about basketball than most that post in this sub forum.
