You and I also know Rivera has to go. He has gotten worse, not better.

 

So why would you want at least 1 more season of futility from Ron just to host a playoff game in which we would likely be humiliated?

 

This team is headed in the wrong direction. We aren't on the cusp of anything, despite what Ron or Shula might say. The only cure is to clean house, Shula isn't enough, he and Ron are 2 peas in a pod. The best thing long term for this team is for JR and Gettleman to find themselves in the position that they have to do something to retain credibility as an organization.

 

I don't care about draft position, but I do care about effective leadership and a winning environment.

My gut says that anything less than taking the division title again this season old Chico will be let go. Getting in the playoffs will buy him time depending on how far he goes when and if they get there.

People always think tanking for a higher pick will cure all.  A higher pick doesn't automatically = a better player.  How about this... We win the division by some miracle, Gettleman doesn't give a sh*t and cans Rivera anyway.  Making the playoffs would be fantastic if nothing else to have the division title once more.  The banner would hang forever at BofA.

Stupid question.  If he loses his job, what mediocre replacement do you recommend?  This franchise has subsisted on mediocrity... what is the lightning in a bottle you would recommend to change that reality?

You guys who are touting the reason for him being fired becuase of lack of back to back winning seasons do realize that winning out means we have a winning season,  (and more importantly, back to back playoffs), right?

I guess the majority of you guys dont know that if you get in the playoffs anything can happen. The Wild Card Giants werent supposed to win the Super Bowl, the 7-9 Seahawks werent supposed to throttle the Saints
