I almost dropped a reactive F bomb. I just told her "He was born in Charlotte and we are Panthers fans. We cheer for the home teams because this is our home."

 

That was a well spoken and  good response. Usually people that make catty remarks about the Panthers are either band waggon fans,or know very little about NFL football.

I kind of feel like we're growing a bond here, Panthers fans.  Like, soon, I'll be able to lean on your shoulders just as you are able to lean on mine.

 

Panthers fans, just take a deep breath, close your eyes to hide the tears, smile and just learn to say there is always next year.  Eventually, you just let it go and you learn to hate yourself a little bit less every time you say it.

Well, i was going to repress this story, but today's events kind of justify it. I was dropping my youngest off at daycare this morning. He was wearing his Panther coat like he does everyday its cold. We walk into the room and this little girl yells "Boo Panthers! We hate the Panthers!". He looked at me with the sads. The teacher said her parents are Packer fans.

I give you, the state of the franchise.

The first time you ever wished your kid could properly employ the phrase "you useless gash" at the end of a sentence.
