a) An actual real franchise in the NFL, the Patriots, to a joke of a team ran by Jerry Richardson?

 

An actual NFL coach in Belichick with super bowl rings?

 

 

Avant said it with class and football knowledge.

I am simply pointing out that the best coach in the NFL would have handled the situation with Avant in the same manner.

It is seriously not a question of whether Avant was right or wrong...Pro's keep dissension in house...they don't broadcast it for the world to see.

I agree with your point, but it's a bad example. The Patriots are a well run organisation. Under Belichick, Brady and co, they have built a dynasty. So every season they are a contender. You may hear the odd rumbling that Brady doesn't like them letting his receivers go, but ultimately they are a successful team that we've never been.

But what would Belichick or most head coaches do?

They would probably throw the guy in the dog house or cut him. If the players criticise the coach, then they generally end up being shown the door more times than not. The only time they might not get shown the door is if the coach actually wakes up and takes their point on board, and does something to sort out the problems his team faces, rather than living in cloud cuckoo land where they think their team is still a contender...

20yrs of the same crap! Coaches get fired. Players go elsewhere and succeed. Every other year the team is set up to fail. Every other year we're rebuilding. Next year. Next year. Next year. Every coach is bargain basement startup material aside from Siefert.

Yep. Settling for a near 50 yarder despite his O being on fire.....and giving the opponent 1:30 to get a game winning FG would not of been Belichick's goal.

Godfrey huge liability....they went out there way for to let attempt to make the team as a nickel CB. Opponents had near 100% completion on him.

Avant. Vet brought in to act like a vet....and play a smal role. Nothing changed, was what he was. Displays better late game comprehension than HC.....suddenly is canned.

Philly got reps early on. Avant is a vested player so he is getting paid regardless. Nor did he ever have a big role to begin with.

Philly future opportinies clearly isn't a reason to now cut Avant
