Coaches Film - Deangelo can share some blame

Just playing Devils Advocate, do you think he was told by the coaches to do this.  I'd imagine in their conservative nature, they told him to take the sure short gain over bouncing it out for a possible big gain, but also possibly getting hit in the backfield.  It's not how good coaches work, but it sure as hell seems like something our coaches would do.

i want to believe this, but why not call a play that utilizes all the blockers to gain something straight up the gut instead of pulling two of them to the outside?

the next 2 run plays do exactly that using newton on second down and stewart on third.

the first down play call was to williams's strength.

the more i look at it, the more it looks like he screwed up.
