I just hope Fox has the strength to pull Jake if he continues to play bad during the regular season.

Who do we have to put in? A life-long back-up in McCown? The inexperienced Matt Moore? Suck it up, Jake is the best we've got right now.

That's what is so depressing though. I honestly believe that no one else is going to have a shot at that job unless Jake gets injured. I just don't get it, does Jake have pictures of Fox and Hurney having sex with donkeys or something?

Wasn't Jake a life long back up at one time ?

How in the world did the Panthers start a life long back up

Exactly. If Jake is stinking it up, how does anyone else know there is no better option? How can you know McCown or Moore will be bad? You don't! If you put McCown in and there's no improvement, you put in Moore for the experience. A player can't improve if they don't get experience. I'd rather have someone in there with potential to be better than stick with someone I know is terrible simply cause Im too afraid the backups will be bad. You already have a bad one out there starting, so why are you afraid if the backups will be bad too? At least there's a chance things could be better with them.

I don't know if you're familiar with team sports, but usually the back ups are back ups because they aren't as good as the starter. If they were better, then they would be starters.

Oh yeah, I forgot about this.

When the players were coming out at the beginning of practice, Mike Goodson was walking with Nate Salley.

BTW, Goodson didnt practice and had a slight limp.

But I yelled out Mike!. and he turned and I gave him the throat slashing jester.

Nate Salley shoved him and they were both laughing. then Mike said, "haha, I cant do that no more!"

Goodson was carted off earlier that day in the AM practice towards the end. I did see him walking once they made it up to the locker rooms and so forth.

No sh*t Sherlock. You figure that out yourself?

Ask yourself this question. If you have a starter that is continuing to hurt your team and making stupid decisions over and over again, would you keep him in there while continuing to hurt your team or would you go with someone else who at least has a little bit of hope of there being an improvment at the position? Some people here are so far up Delhomme's ass, they wouldn't go with the latter.

His bad games this past year were worse in terms of INTs in the game, no question. I think that magnifies them for sure.

But in his whole starting career he normally starts the season slow and does better as the year goes on rating wise. Last year was no exception until the AZ game.

I don't actually remember any preseason where he played a good game until the third one, but maybe I am wrong.

Johnny Unitas was not as good as the starters in Pittsburg,so they cut him.

Brett Favre was not as good as the starters in Atlanta they traded him.

Joe Thesiman was not as good as the starters in Miami.

Steve Young was not as good as the starters in Tampa

At the pro level Not as good as the starter could be a misconstrue statement .

However, Jake has helped the team much more than he has hurt the team over his career.....and that is why he is the starter. Jake isn't Peyton Manning......but Peyton Manning would be a waste of money on this team.

If he was a 22 year old rookie I might agree with you. With 10+ years of experience, all of those guys were much better than any one else on the team. If you have that much experience and people are still questioning if you're any good at what you do, it's time to change careers.
