Great write up, and look forward to the pics. :cheers2:

Jake hasn't looked good since the very start of TC IMHO.

Speaking of auto's, you guys remember our Super Bowl year, when Steve slide down the goal post while we were playing Chicago????

Finally, Finally this year at TC I got him to sign it. I was so stoked. He usually(most all the time) will only sign a jersey, or pic if he puts a name on it, and he is smart for doing it.

Why should he sign those things for free for people to put on Ebay and take money out of his pocket, when he can charge at a show a certain price for each item signed?

We didn't play Chicago in our Super Bowl year.

That was '05.

blinded by loyalty.i really can't understand how a coach nor front office cannot see what hinders this team...i thought the idea was to get better after each season,or build on the last, well this organization did nothing to help the qb situation....they could have brought a seasonized vet in too compete with jake for the starting spot......than to go in the draft and not get a prospect also leaves me wondering is hurney and co. trying to ruin this organization.we pulled rodney peete when he was on the decline, i can see this happeneing to mr. chickenman this year.

Oh yeah, I forgot about this.

When the players were coming out at the beginning of practice, Mike Goodson was walking with Nate Salley.

BTW, Goodson didnt practice and had a slight limp.

But I yelled out Mike!. and he turned and I gave him the throat slashing jester.

Nate Salley shoved him and they were both laughing. then Mike said, "haha, I cant do that no more!"

It's not about the AZ game, and please stop using that as an excuse. That was just one of 4 terrible games Jake played just last year (MIN, TB1, OAK and AZ for those who missed my earlier post about it). He's just not a consistently good QB. He'll play a good game, then he'll play a crappy game, then he'll play a mediocre game. He's been that way his entire career and just not consistent enough to take us there. Yes he played great in the super bowl, but that game is long gone. Everyone talks about his needing to put the AZ game in the past...you need to put the super bowl in the past. It's over, and it's not coming back. He's a mediocre QB who shows flashes of brilliance. Stop looking at the pretty lights and see the big picture. I shudder every time he goes back to throw. It's as likely to be a TD as an INT. Given how conservative Fox is, I can't understand why he keeps trotting out a QB who is a roll of the dice every time he throws the ball. We have great skill players on O...imagine how good this team would be with Drew Brees at QB, who we could have had.

well, to be fair he has taken us there.....so therefore that arguement is weak. Given how conservative Fox is......a gambling QB really makes the most since. Put a conservative safe QB in Fox's hands and I doubt a Fox offense does much.......b/c Fox ain't gonna outcoach too many guys.

So what do we do if Jake never snaps out of it? Turn to McCown? He hasn't shown me anything. Turn to Moore? He has shown flashes that he can be a good QB one day, just don't think it's right now. However, I would rather give him a shot just for experience. To be honest, I never had high hopes for this season any way solely because of who our QB is.

The truth of the matter is that as Jake goes, so goes our coaching staff and GM. They have pretty much pushed "all-in" on Jake as our starter and our future, with basically no backup plan. So if Jake doesn't succeed, I imagine we will see a new coach and GM. Sadly, I would expect this within the next 2-3 years.

Absolutely not. There was a big difference between the Arizona game and all those others...it was in the playoffs. A team has to rely on the QB to play well in big games and he let the team and the fans down big time. Jake is the kind of guy who takes all the blame whether its warranted or not. Maybe he is still beating himself up.

The comment about fans' confidence being shattered is an understatement. I think we put up with it because we all new Jake would play well when it mattered most and he didn't in the playoffs. With that said I'm all for waiting and seeing if he plays better this week and the week after, in fact, I'm rooting for him to do so.

I think Davidson really needs to see that Jake needs to complete some balls and get his confident back. Im not sure why but in the two series he was in they didnt even use a screen or a short slant. Every QB needs to get into a Rhythm and Davidson I dont think is real good at calling plays to get QBs into it. Thus why all our QBs basically sucked last Monday..... The two worst problems of that horrible AZ game were... Jake not getting into rhythm and our D collapsing because Fitz was not covered. If we dont fix these problems then we are bound to repeat it.

We keep trotting him out because the staff doesn't see the need for a top notch QB. Let's be honest, we are a run-first team, a run-second team and a run-third team. And why not, with what we have on the OL and with our RB's? My issue with this is when the chips are down, we don't have anyone we can trust CONSISTENTLY to get us out of the hole. I'm gonna be honest, for our team we don't NEED a star QB, just a good team manager. Give me Trent Dilfer, give me Kerry Collins, that's really all we need.

In fact, the guy I wanted the most this offseason was Kurt Warner. Even though he is 195 years old!
