You're probably right, but if I knew how most of them are absolutely clueless about the game, I might be able to shrug it off. Much easier than that last game anyway.

So you legitimately think that a large majority of fans and analysts are suffering from some sort of delusion? Ooookay.

Okay, well how about you give me your take on Jake Delhomme. His playing ability, where he fits with the team, etc.

I did, go up a few posts. But if you even look on this board, you can see the ignorance of our fan base. Not sure if you live in Charlotte, I just moved away, but I know the lack of general football or NFL knowledge that goes with our fans. "Trade Stewart" or "Kemo got hurt, Peppers fault" or any of these other garbage ideas.

I don't think Jake has a confidence problem. As much as we hate to hear it, he might just be on the decline. He's at the age where that tends to start happening for the average NFL QB. The QBs who stay sharp into their late 30s are rare exceptions.

Naturally, I will reserve judgment until the real games start.

I saw nothing regarding your opinion of him, other than a general "give him a chance, he's on a short leash." I would prefer a more detail idea of your opinions on him.

If you are equating general board posts and fan talk with "fanbase knowledge" there aren't going to be many differences among ANY fanbases. A lot of bitching and most of it without good reason.

Now in the case of Jake, all of the bitching is warranted. He is not only a barely adequate starter but he's also now one of the most overpaid players on the team.

I don't agree with either of those ideas but they are expressing a big concern which is our not having a dominant star DT since we lost Jenkins. Their recognition of this fact is not ignorance. Giving away everything to get a NT or blaming Peppers is a bit shortsighted but ignorant, not so much.
