Are there any Rivera defenders left or are we 100% against him coming back?

I can't believe there are people who want to keep Rivera. I am actually in shock. This fan base has come to accept mediocrity and the idiot owner of ours knows that. Rivera has a little less than 18 million left on his contract. There is no way Jerry eats that money. At the end of the day eating that contract isn't what is best for the shield and his pie charts. Add that up with a fan base that has been beaten down so much and have become accustomed to mediocrity I see no way ron isn't back next year.

Our Fanbase is sooo "what have you done for me lately". Half probably jumped back on the wagon last year, and were AWOL since Jake's two consecutive 5int games. We have CAP issues, Hardy fugged us, low Team morale on how that was handled, Swish Cheese OLine, and we are still in the hunt of the division. Go jump off, if you want everyone fired because we were going to have a down year anyways. Next year Watch Out!

Now that Riverboat has been complete destroyed and all that's left is Ron Rivera. I want him gone just like last year at the end of the Buffalo game. I wanted him fired before he boarded the plane back to Charlotte. Fug him and his coaching scared tactics.

His end of half / end of game decisions still boggle the mind.

I still basically think he needs to go, but yesterday was not his fault, nor was it Shula's fault.

The players didn't execute.

If you constantly blame the coach for everything, it makes you lose credibility. Sometimes losses are on players, and yesterday was one of those times.

I want to remind people of two things:

1.) The last time we fired an offensive coordinator and kept the head coach, we ended up with OC Jeff Davidson.

2.) The last time we had a coach with two bad seasons followed by a 12-4 no playoff win season followed by another bad season was John Fox from 2006-2009. Need I remind you what happened in 2010 when John Fox wasn't fired?

Never said anything about jumping off and if you are implying I'm a fair weather fan that is comical. The two years prior to last year ron was a bad head coach. Last year he turned his career around when he broke out of his conservative ways. He has gone back to them this year. Week in and week out he makes mind boggling decisions. He struggles with clock mangement. He is awful with the challenge flag. He hasn't won a game after a bye in his career including the playoffs. And for some reason this year he picked up this habit where he throws players under the bus during his post game press conference. That is all the makings of a bad coach. Also since you seem to blame everything on the cap, well I have some bad news for you buddy. The cap isn't looking too friendly for us next year either.

Yes this entire staff needs to go.

This is where Rivera is stupid: If he would have ran a real offense, trying to score a TD, or get closer for a FG, and it failed, then you can blame the players. Absolutely. Sounds simple right?

However, Rivera had no interest in a first down; running the ball up the gut 3X, looking to settle for a Near 50 yard FG with 1:30 secs left. That's the failure.

Even if Gano makes it, chances are Ryan (who's done it against the Panthers and Rivera before) marches up the field and kicks a FG for the win anyway.

That is why Rivera's being blamed. It's because, not only did he not make the right decision. It's because this has happened to him over and over again during his mostly pitiful 4yr NFL Head Coaching Career.

I don't think all of this bad season is Rivera's fault but he certainly is partly to blame for the team playing with a lack of fire and intensity. I feel he is a good NFL DC type but is just not cut out to be a long term success as an NFL HC.

I would like to see JR buy out Rivera's remaining contract and hire an offensive minded HC,one that has schemes that fit the modern day NFL. However,we may be stuck with him for another year, then i believe we'll learn more about  Gettleman's long term plan for the team.  I realize a lot of the flustration with fans is because we don't know what  Gettleman's long term plans are. However, you can bet money he has a master plan he wants to implement, when more pieces are put in place and I don't feel Rivera is part of it.
