Are there any Rivera defenders left or are we 100% against him coming back?

Been posting on the Huddle since nearly the beginning and I can't remember a time seeing so many opposed to any coach or GM as people are anti-Rivera right now. Just for the sake of argument, are there ANY Rivera defenders left that want to see him back next year?

I think he will get the chance to fire some people and see what he can do with some new blood at OC.

Def gotta get rid of shula. I dont think Ron is against a creative offense, as we had one with the previous OC. I think he prob will get another year, but i'm not sure he should or will. i have been semi-pissed since he threw cam under the bus w/ the injury thing. Not to mention his ability to manage a game is one of the worst I've seen. We've probably literally blown 10 to 15 games over his coaching career based on his inability to go for the win at the right times... ahh phuck it, fire his ass.

I can't believe there are people who want to keep Rivera. I am actually in shock. This fan base has come to accept mediocrity and the idiot owner of ours knows that. Rivera has a little less than 18 million left on his contract. There is no way Jerry eats that money. At the end of the day eating that contract isn't what is best for the shield and his pie charts. Add that up with a fan base that has been beaten down so much and have become accustomed to mediocrity I see no way ron isn't back next year.

For pretty much what I said above. Remember in the offseason when Gettleman said there would be growing pains? He knew the holes we were going into the season with so I dont see him faulting rivera for that. When in the history of the nfl was the reigning coach of the year fired? I see the ineptitude with rivera as do many others but you cant deny the fact he was handicapped personnel wise. I'm willing to bet Gettleman is joining Cam/Rivera at the hip and will get one more year to prove their worth here. I hope im wrong but I don't think I am.

I think we're way beyond 'growing pains' at this point.
