Are there any Rivera defenders left or are we 100% against him coming back?

Rivera: He's a good guy and is a great defensive coordinator, but he has proven that he isn't a good head leader. He is loyal to a fault and refuses to take chances when he needs to. Last year, he took those chances. Every other year he hasn't and we have fallen short. 

 

I will be extremely surprised if he and Shula are on our coaching staff next year. It's time for a change. I don't just mean a new HC and OC, I mean a new direction from this franchise. The best teams in the league are ones that develop their franchise QBs. Time for us to follow suit. 

 

If we don't use this offseason in helping Cam in every way possible, I think it will be time for me to seriously tone down my fandom. It's just not worth it to invest my emotion into a team that is too stubborn to take advantage of what we have been blessed with in Cam. 

 

I read a study the other day about people who won't change their ways. Essentially it's not that they ignore new information, it's that they refuse to let go of old biases. If JR won't change in order for us to move to the next level, I can't say I want to be emotionally tied to that. 

 

I'll always be a Panthers fan, but right now everyone who knows me says: He's the biggest Panthers fan on the planet. If changes aren't made, they won't say that about me anymore.

Ron needs to go period.  Changing the OC will not be enough because Ron will always override the new OC with conservative, not to lose, type of playcalling.  That will of course lead to more losses at the end of games, because even if the OC has a pair of balls, we know that Ron doesn't have any of that Bruce Arians Moxie.

We're 3 5/8 years into his coaching fiasco.  We know the type of coach he is at this point regardless if we somehow finish 8-7-1.  He shouldn't come back next season.  Period.

I know Gettleman will make his own decisions, but if I'm him, I'm meeting with the captains of this team the day the season ends. Cam specifically. Take their opinions on RR and the staff, factor that into a decision, and if he gets even the slightest sense the players are questioning a coach, can them. 

 

 

Cam and Luke are the future here, not RR. If they're not comfortable with him and want a change...make it happen. If they are comfortable with him and don't want a change...GMan should probably still fire RR.

Im okay with him. Its the players more then the coaches.  Some might laugh be with our schedule we have a legit chance at the playoffs. We get Tolbert back and i think we get Frank Alexander back soon too which will help with the pass rush. I will say I am completely against Shula though but im okay with Rivera
