Torn ACL for Gurley

He is a first round pick without this injury.

If he's there in the second I'd love to take him as a value pick (and we know gettleman puts value over need.)

This is a training staff and doctors that have worked with Thomas Davis and Jon Beason. I trust they would give Todd the best chance to be productive.

Thomas Davis, Jeremy Maclin, Gronkowski, and Adrian Peterson say hi.

There's always exceptions.  Some people are blessed.  I don't wanna risk it in the first couple of rounds that this kid is one of them.  Many more players' lose a significant step after an ACL injury than the examples you mentioned.  I'd be ok with a 4th on him if he slips, but our holes at OL and WR and secondary are too great imo to take a chance on a RB with a torn ACL.

He walked off on his own power, I'm sure his explosion will be fine

Willis McGahee suffered one of the worst knee injuries I've ever seen.  Still went in the 1st round.  Still became a very good NFL RB.

I'm not sure Gurley will still go in the 1st round after this, but LOL @ anyone who thinks he'll last until the 6th.  This guy is probably the best NFL RB prospect since Adrian Peterson.

You can't compare Gurley to McGahee or AP bc some people are just able to recover faster than others; i.e. Lattimore.

However, Gurley walked off on his own power and with all these new technologies and whatever else to help players rehab I still think hes a 1st rounder. I don't see how Seattle or Baltimore could pass him up.

The NFL is not the same as it was back then or even as it was when Peterson was drafted.  They said the same thing about Trent Richardson and he was healthy and look how he ended up... The league doesn't value RBs nearly as much anymore.  I would bet he goes in the 3rd or 4th. Not 6th but no way in hell 1st or 2nd.

Fully agree with you on the fact that RBs are much less valuable as a whole today than when McGahee was drafted.

I've always said that Alabama RBs end up being way overrated.  Saban's offense relies on pounding the football and they always have one of the, if not the best OL in college football.  It's the perfect situation for a RB to look a whole lot better than he actually is.

Yep, apparently Seattle was scouting Gordon on Saturday. Almost a guarantee they take Gordon or Gurley and part ways with Lynch
