Hangman got up to about 315 in the offseason with Buffalo and has done a hell of a job so far, esp in both preseason games.

reyes was a major letdown underachiever while he was here. he didn't work out. we were/are better off without him.

hangman was a big loss but he deserved his shot at being a starter somewhere else.

vincent was better and a better fit for the oline. hangartner was a backup jack of all trades.

plus...we didn't cut hangman. his contract ran out and he was a free agent who 1) wanted a chance to start somewhere and 2) we didn't have money to sign.

vincent is under contract for a bit longer...actually for another year and for not very much either. vincent's contract with the panthers:

3/3/2008: Signed a two-year, $1.95 million contract. The deal includes $400,000 in bonuses. 2009: $820,000, 2010: Free Agent

in other words quite a bargain.

here's the contract for the hangman in buffalo...

2/28/2009: Signed a four-year contract. 2009: $1.9 million, 2010: $2.35 million, 2011: $2.55 million, 2012: $2.8 million, 2013: Free Agent

would have been hard to compete with that even without having to worry about peppers and hard to justify giving that to a backup.
