Can't fire Ron and Shula simply bc we would have no one to realistically finish out the year. Firing both and making McDermott interim leaves u with too many coaching holes.

You just can't fire them both.

 

Firing Shula does nothing if you don't completely change philosophies as he goes. 

 

Firing Ron really doesn't do anything but satisfy the fan base.

I agree.  I wasn't being 100% serious that we need to fire Rivera/Shula heading into the bye.  It solves nothing.  But holy crap, I have never been more disappointed in a coaching staff than that game.

 

I mean I wanted Rivera and Shula gone long before this game but today really cemented the fact we will never get anywhere with them.  Maybe a playoff birth here and there but Rivera lacks the winning mentality of great coaches.  He accepts mediocrity.

 

Great guy.  Wish him the best and he will be an excellent DC once he gets that job back.  But he is a dreadful HC.

Rivera is a really good defensive coordinator who just doesn't have what it takes to put it all together and succeed as the head coach. He never will.

Smith did all of his damage against us and in the games leading up to that showdown, when he was fired up about showing us up. Since then he's had 1 TD and 1 100 yard game in 6 games.

 

 

Y'all are seriously overhyping the idea that cutting smitty was a bad decision.
