Anyone Have Any Experience in the Clothing/Textile Industry?

I have thought for a long time about creating a clothing line, but it has often fell to the wayside due to other obligations.  But, I would definitely be interested in still exploring it just to see where it goes and say I tried, at the very least.

I had looked a few years back into textile factories in NC, but it was a bit confusing.

I'm not talking about these websites where you come up with a saying or corny looking logo made by someone else, and then they put it on some cheap ass, uncomfortable, stiff t-shirt and sell it for you.  I'm talking about creating, designing, producing, and selling your own brand.

Any experience or leads?

I have a few clients in the clothing industry. One that makes and sells and designs their own clothing line and then a couple of others that sell mainstream stuff made by others.

I'm not sure what you are looking for but I can tell you they all rely on the far east for production. Travelling there etc...

But do you have a concept ready to go? I would assume the first step is getting someone to buy in to an idea.

That's the extent of my knowledge.

I see clowns all the time (Not you) that are going to start a clothing line. They come in and make my life hell. They think they're going to make money. You aren't, stop while you're ahead.

Clothing market is so saturated it's hard to break into. Most of the newer brands I now that gain any traction usually start very niche and slowly build over time. Which can be a catch 22 because people want something they feel is unique but once other people discover it and you're starting to grow your brand is essentially dying.

Well specifically, I have always felt I had an eye for what the consumer wants. I often find things othing-wise that other people compliment me on and ask where I got it because they were searching for something similar. Furthermore, I have always been very critical of apparel in that sense as well. If I'm looking for something specific, say like a jacket, it has to have certain features. If it lacks those features, then I won't buy it and will move on to something else. So, I have always thought, if I had the ability to make or improve an existing apparel product and can give people those same features that I'm looking for, then there are hundreds to thousands of people that would want the same thing.

I also have the idea that if I can figure out the creating and production side of it, that I would run a very "homegrown," straight to the consumer system. I would cut out middlemen and get it straight to the consumer to increase profits.

I was further inspired by reading this article recently on the Business Insider. it's a very similar business model to what I'm envisioning, as I think the idea of exclusivity drives up the demand and when the customer news they are getting high quality, USA-made products, the product will sell themselves when marketed correctly... And I have tons of ideas for the marketing side of things.

This is a disaster waiting to happen. I hope you don't invest a lot of money in this. Not being rude, but just because you have "style" doesn't mean jack. Do you sew, do you know anything about design? I'm not saying you don't I'm just asking. Not trying to be mean just being honest.

Bo Nix has directed the Denver Broncos to a 5-0 stretch, throwing for 1,976 yards and 17 touchdowns, contributing to a 7-2 overall start. Bryce Young, in his second season, has led the Carolina Panthers to a 4-0 run since October, accumulating 1,390 yards and 11 touchdowns amid a 4-4 record.   Undefeated QBs since start of October (min. 4 starts)   Drake Maye 5-0 Bo Nix 5-0 Bryce Young 4-0   Bryce Young when asked about his mindset during game winning drives: "You don’t rise to the occasion you fall back to the level of your training."
    • 1. Cowboys-No explanation needed. 2. Rest of NFC South equally. If I had to pick I would say Falcons.    3. Eagles- Both of the games I have attended there the fans were so horrible. The fan base is so ridiculously misbehaved, I’ve never seen such immaturity. 4- Lions- I have cousins in Michigan that grew up Lions fans and they are some of the most obnoxious people I have ever met, as are all of their Lions buddies. The NFL has been lucky that Detroit has been in the cellar for its eternity.    5. Tie between Bears and Vikings. Both act like Steelers, Cowboys, Niners fans do with nostalgia and legendary seasons but neither have ever really had them. They act like they each won 5 super bowls in previous decades but never accomplished poo outside of Chicago in 85.
    • You play the Saints that is great news for your O line.
