Thinking about buying a new T.V.

I have a 60" Pioneer Elite Kuro plasma in my den which is about 7 years old and will be very sad the day it finally dies. But when it does, I may get a 65" to replace it. But it's on a big wall and my couch is about 12 feet away. I've always been the mindset of bigger is better for tvs.

the smart functions kind of stink, too slow compared to chromecast or an xbox/ps4 with netlix or amazon prime.

Yeah, the smart functions are so slow.

I've not had any good luck with the Vizios. I've owned 2 and both have gone black on me within 2 years. I switched to LG and couldn't be happier. I realize most of these companies are using the same internal components, but there's got to be some QA differences somewhere.

I've had this one since it was new. Still works great.

I still consider Samsung as the only way to go

I have a Samsung LED in my bedroom and it is pretty great. In fact I'm watching the Phoebe Cates pool scene from Fast Times at Ridgemount High on it right now. Well, I've rewound it and watched about 8 times now......

Amazing how much I like the Cars song Moving in Stereo because of this scene.

Plasmas are the way to go. Kind of in the same boat as you. Mine is going on close to nine years old now and it's finally starting to get a little wear to it. Going back to Plasma, picking up a new Samsung 51" tomorrow.

Same here.  Bought a Vizio and it died a few months after I bought it.  It was still under warranty fortunately.  Would have cost more to fix it than it cost them to pay me back, so they gave me most of my money back. Repairman said he had more calls on Vizio than on any other model.  Learned my lesson and went with Samsung the next time.
