BBR breaks down Williams vs Stewart

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

With a healthy, halfway decent line, one or both would be top 10 RBs in this league *when healthy*

No. Williams would not be a top 10 RB with a decent line. He would need a great line that allows him huge holes and that allows him to consistantly get to the 2nd level untouched.

A 31 yr old DWill healthy.....as a stand alone player isn't a top 10 RB. Not even top 20. Too many young talented guys out there.

It mattered in the first half last week. Matters most weeks. You want 3-5 or 0-2 yards. Isn't much but makes a difference to the O.

The 28 vs 34 argument is always good for over zealous reaction.

Stewart averages 1/2 yard per carry more per rush than Williams this year.

Williams averages about 5 yards more per reception than Stewart this year.

Negligible at best.

the flow of possession is what is important here.

especially with this shitty ass offense.

Meh, no point talking stat sheet.

Eye test. 28 is just better. Wants to fight for yards and does for us. If 28 more reps he might get some of the slight holes Williams occasssionally does (like in the article -video)....he won't go down at the end of the hole. Bigger gain.

Stats only tell part of any story. Neither can be great or even good behind this OL. Eye test shows 28 is simply a better option. For whatever that is worth. Might not be much but could decrease some of the 3rd and longs

I got no problem with 28 running the rock 30 times a game but he'll be on the IR by mid 4th quarter.

Well, at least he would have given us one good game. NFL isn't about protecting RBs. That is another issue all together.

Hell, let's just start Fozzy. We need to know how seriously we need to invest/look at RBs going into next year anyway. Why not. At least once we are officially out of it. Save 28. Let Fozzy audition. He has more pep and fight than 34 does at this stage

We're a win and a Taint loss from 1st place even with all our glaring flaws.

Hard to believe at times but this coaching staff is trying their damndest to win.
