I've been through every season just like he has, and have invested a lot of money over the years for what's almost always a mediocre product.  And I CAN'T WAIT until tomorrow, when my oldest and I are going to watch us put a beating on the clowns.  Someday Eddie Becker needs to learn what it is to be a fan.  Hint:  it doesn't involve writing long Dear John letters on the internet...

The guy is feeling let down by his team.  He (assuming) is having an emotional crash (as many of us are).  He is reaching out for help and just wishing someone would understand.  Don't send him into a spiraling torrent of emotions.  Lift him up.  Give him assurance and understanding.  Love your brother Panther fan.

 But after that glorious '96 season, you lost interest. You stopped dressing up for nights on the town, instead settling for sweatpants on the couch eating entire bags of Cheetos while binge watching Netflix shows. And not good ones either. You'd watch forty episodes of "How I Met Your Mother" and all I could think is "what has happened to the Panthers?"

 

 

This is an interesting analogy, but he reaches the completely opposite conclusion that you should reach. Loving the Panthers IS like loving a family member or a significant other. We fell in love with her when she had a rocking body back in '95/'96 or 2003 as it was for a lot of people or maybe even 2008 or 2011 for a lot of really younger fans. And yes, she HAS put on a ton of weight and doesn't look nearly as hot as she used to. But you don't break up with your wife because of that, you keep loving her you jackass. It's ride or die with me and the Panthers until death do us part, I don't care how many stupid decisions made by ownership, front office, coaches, etc I have to sit through. I'm not going anywhere.
