Also, worth noting that Fitzpatrick and Alex Smith both shared time over the last 4 years.

If both players started every game for their teams over the last 4 years they may be closer.

Of note, Flacco is interesting on this list.

Flacco did have a bad line. Well. Not really.

That number is that high for multiple reasons. We have run him a lot during his 4 years here, our O-line has been average or horrible his whole career, doesn't get the ball out quick enough, holds the ball too long, and doesn't slide on some occasions. All of those things start to add up and you end up being the most sacked or hit QB in the NFL. He's not going to last very long so I hope people enjoyed him while he played because it already is looking like his wheels are depreciating.

Yes,he will not last long at the rate things are going, even with a decent OL. The fact his style of play makes him injury prone, plus his bad mechanics, lacking pocket awareness, not real accurate passer, makes bad decisions, takes to long to make good reads, has emotions that are high-high or low-low, are probably questions the Panthers are asking themselves before they consider paying him a high salary that the position commands

Did you read what you responded to?

What does throwing it away have to do with him having a joke of rush attack....that he can't play off of?

That he tries to carry the entire team on his back and should know by now that he cannot do that.

He needs to change the calls at the line.  When the D is stacking 6 players in the box and showing blitz he needs to call a run and let the RB's get smoked.  When the D has 4 guys on the line and 7 guys in pass coverage he needs to call a run.

Newton is a good QB.  It's time that he starts playing like one, though.  He needs to manage the game better.

He doesn't have a choice. Other choice would be instead of having a 12-4 seaosn last year he doesn't carry more and we go 7-9 that year.

Cam will do what he has to do. If he does less we are worse.

He needs talent around him. Put Tom Brady on this team and he would look average. No OL, no rush game and WRs that can't get open.....audibles don't fix that

Maybe we have it all wrong about the front office. Maybe they do think Cam is superman and figured a high school o line is enough.

Been saying this

Cam is not Superman. Silly them for believing in that poo instead of surrounding him with pieces, not taking away and losing

You're kidding yourself.  Brady has had less talent or equal talent to this roster and done much, much more.

Also, yeah, so what about last year.  Despite it being last year and now irrelevant, the Panthers far overachieved.  The rode his back all the way in to the playoffs and were then exposed by the 9'ers.  That will happen again in the following years until he can learn to spread the ball around and let his backs do the work, even if they are not all-pro.

There is a reason RB's behind Brady get good yards.  The same would be true in Carolina if Newton just learned to manage the game better.

That sounds fun. Name the prior season or seasons Brady had less talent.

And I agree they overachieved last year. Cam had to carry them and bail them out. Of course your team gets exposed in the postseason bc of it. He isn't the real Superman.

You’re absolutely right. As people probably already know, I fully disagree with signing Cam to a mega contract for the reasons you mentioned. You don't invest in a QB that already looks like he is wearing down and still is not a very good passer. It would be stupid. We are in dire need of WAY more positions than an average QB. That's why I say trade Cam for a lot of draft picks (and trust me, teams most definitely will) and start all over and attempt to build a complete team. I know Panther fans love him and think he can be elite with offensive weapons, but I still think he would struggle because he is just not a good QB.

There's no way that you believe all of what you just typed.

I literally lol'd.
