Either Rivera doesn't think so, or he doesn't care, lol. Personally, since Cam is clearly hobbled, he should be sitting. Putting Anderson out there because Cam is ailing still doesn't mean Anderson gives you "the best chance to win." It means you have to field someone at QB, and he's the backup. Whether he gives you the best "chance" to win is open ended, lol.

Only in Carolina does a large portion of the fan base have a starting QB do as well as Cam Newton has over the course of his career so far and still think that the backup QB "gives us the best chance of winning" whether or not that starting QB is healthy. This movement didn't just start.

We've been blown out in 5 out of the last 8 games.

 

This offense simply is not built personnel wise to consistently score a ton of points, let alone come back from those kinds of deficits.

 

I just don't think that who was behind center would have made much of a difference, if any, in those games.

You have a point. I won't deny that I don't think Cam has what it takes and there are many that feel the same way and id bet some players on the team too. That's the problem, the players appear to have doubts about the coaches and Cam. Lets be honest for a minute, do you believe that Cam has the same mental capacity as Wilson, Rodgers, Manning, Luck or Brady? Those are the elite QB's in the league. Listen to them talk and watch their body language and how the players around them respond. It takes an extremely high level of intelligence to grasp everything that is needed to be elite. It's not always about over the top athletic ability, which Cam has, to be an elite QB. Can Cam succeed in the NFL and possibly win a SB? I'd say yes if the team was loaded with talent, but I think we all know that isn't going to be the case on the offensive side of the ball as long as Gman is the GM. I've never been a fan of Cams, but I certainly hope, as a panther fan from day 1, that he succeeds in a large way and wins a SB while playing for the team. I just don't see that happening for several reasons, many not at the fault of Cam.

I would say Cam will test the market, unless the tag is placed on him, because he is tired of getting beat up.  Now, if they get some O line talent to protect him, he may stay.  He will ask for a lot of money, I'm sure.  He might even give a discount to anyone that would take him that has a very good offensive line.  Pure speculation of course.
