If Cam's health issues are the reason for his poor play....which in turn has caused all the scrutiny....why was DA not played from the beginning? It makes it seem like Cam has given an ultimatum to the team if he was sat in favor of DA even though he's been hurt. That's probably not what happened, but it makes it appear that way.

It just shows they're more concerned with the publicity that Cam brings then getting the W's. God forbid DA plays while Cam's hurt and has a good year. The coaches would rather have a crappy year with a hurt Cam then a decent year with a healthy DA.

This is the problem with you apologists. How do you know he his hurt more than the average player or exactly how hurt the average player is at this point. You pull things out,of your butt based on an observation you made and act as if you have talked with Cam or have some special understanding the rest of us don't. Did I not say that pain was often do to your situation and whether for example you are winning or losing. So I have no idea what the average player feels nor do you. Honestly I would like to see Webb or Anderson given I am not convinced that Cam is necessarily the best option right now and I don' t want to damage him further. You are being naive. The Panthers waited too long to do the surgery, but there was a surgery, so Rivera sat Cam for a game. In hindsight, he probably should've sat him longer even though he wanted to be out there.

No, the bigger question is does Anderson give the Panthers the best chance of winning?

Either Rivera doesn't think so, or he doesn't care, lol. Personally, since Cam is clearly hobbled, he should be sitting. Putting Anderson out there because Cam is ailing still doesn't mean Anderson gives you "the best chance to win." It means you have to field someone at QB, and he's the backup. Whether he gives you the best "chance" to win is open ended, lol.

Only in Carolina does a large portion of the fan base have a starting QB do as well as Cam Newton has over the course of his career so far and still think that the backup QB "gives us the best chance of winning" whether or not that starting QB is healthy. This movement didn't just start.

I think he is less effective. I saw him running and you could see he was lifting his foot off the ground as opposed to planting and stepping on his fore foot to sprint him. It could be the reason his mechanics are so off because I can find no other way to explain the variance between his early season play and how he is currently playing. Hope he does not do more damage to his foot.

Keep playing on damaged feet, and further injury is guaranteed.

This season is done for us.  Newton needs to go on IR and get healthy physically and mentally for next year.  To keep playing him behind this o line and with this bunch of receivers is insane.
