Jumping ship ....

Ahhhhh, the quote makes sense but my point was that since we've been in grade school we've been conditioned to believe one side of history.

Still, I gotcha. A reference from Animal House. I probably would've never got that.

Moderators: he should be put on double secret probation until he can prove he has watched the whole movie.

Put Zod on it, he's a sneaky little sh1t. The time has come for someone to put their foot down!

I believe so.

When people think of Pearl Harbor, they associate the attack with Germans (along with The Japanese). Granted, the road to WWII ran through Germany but I always found it interesting that we declared war on them when they weren't in charge of the attack.

I'm sorry my young friend, but if anybody really associates the Germans with the Pearl Harbor attack they are of below average intelligence....And FYI Germany declared war on the US first and we reciprocated the act. History!!!

Guess they don't teach WW2 history in school no more.

I'd be lying if I said that I hadn't thought about it before, but the truth is, I didn't become a PantherPhann because of any Panther players. I became a PantherPhann because of the Panthers location, I have a home team to root for and I could never pull myself to pull for a team outside the Carolinas. We have to support our own...

Common misconception.

It was Japan who bombed us, not Germany. Funny story if you're a historian though, we declared war on Germany shortly after.

Makes sense?

Not sure if serious? The dude was obviously making a pun, and it went right over your head. We went to war with Germany because Western Europe was about to be completely overrun. While the Soviet Union would've eventually won regardless, we helped speed that process along.

Then America is filled with dumb-dumbs.

On Germany's declaration, you are aware that America was already launching strikes against German U-Boats and scout ships prior to December 11th, right? The US was already engaged by the time Germany and Italy made it official.

December 7th sir. We dropped depth charges because Germans targeted any and ever ship leaving the US to Europe because we were smuggling materials to help them wage war.

I pied you for your sincerity but am crying on the inside.  Saw the initial response to the Animal House quote and really thought you were being sarcastic.  Apologies for my hateful thought but damn you for not knowing the movie reference.  Some people were born after the 70's I guess.

FTW...
