Losing is one thing. If they continue to not only ruin our first franchise QB ever, but to make him a scapegoat, it's gonna be hard for me to cheer for this team.

Will I jump ship.  Nah.  I will continue to root for them through thick and thin.  Will I be mad if Rivera and Shula are retained?  Actually not because I know that it takes talent to win in the NFL and right now they don't have the talent to win.  When we had better talent last year they won.  Was 12-4 somewhat overblown from where we should have been?  Likely by a game or two but honestly we were 2 plays away from starting out 3-1 last year instead of 1-3 so honestly I don't think it was way over expected.  Am I surprised with this year? After the first 2 games I had high expectations despite everyone saying we were going to suck.  But then like usual the injuries happened and frankly we not only did not have enough legitimate starters but the backups frankly shouldn't have been on most NFL rosters.

For me, Cam, Rivera and Shula are the same guys that went 12-4 last year.  What has changed is the chemistry and the players and not in a good direction. If this were the same team as last year and we were getting these results then it would be time to make changes.  Could someone make this team perform better than it has, perhaps.  But then we could do worse as well particularly with a coach and OC who are not teachers and patient which is what you need when you have starters with no experience and backups who are not even playing the position they did in order to get to the NFL.

 

The adage is true that quarterbacks and coaches get too much praise when things are going right and too much criticism when things are going wrong.

The only way I could ever imagine myself no longer being a Panthers fan is if they relocated but even then... I'm pretty sure I would remain a fan but it would sting a lot and I would despise the owner.

Nah, I'm just going to pick a team to bandwagon for the playoffs like I do almost every single year. It will be the Browns in the AFC and the Cards in the NFC.

As mentioned elsewhere, we're not just losing games.  We're getting blown out while also looking like The Jerry Springer Show behind the scenes.

 

Coaches can survive losing seasons if the team still looks professional.  They very rarely survive the locker room becoming a dumpster fire.

 

Only our Panthers could go from a questionably conceived "Head Coach of the year" to dumpster fire in one season.

Only way I'm out is if they somehow manage to botch keeping Cam AND San Antonio gets a team (I live in Austin).  Those would both need to happen.
