TBQH I am glad he continues to say things like this and I hope he continues to do so.

If only our organization carried the chip he has on his shoulder, or worked as hard as he did to get into position to be a HOFer and undoubtedly one of the greatest WRs of all time, then we wouldn't be perennial losers who tote the flag of mediocrity or worse every year.

The bitterness towards Smitty and other former Panthers on the Huddle is a perfect example of how the FO thinks they can continue to do the same old things and keep rolling your cash in. Sure, everyone is all "OMG WE SUCK FIRE EVERYONE" right now, and we'll do little to nothing this coming offseason, and folks will be up in here like "SUPER BOWL!"

Get real.

I bet this is verbatim somewhere on Facebook

I mean it's funny how people just line up to pucker their lips and prepare to suck a guy's ass because they have amplified his legacy to the point that it's unrecognizable to who he always was in Charlotte. Smitty would've been in cruise control and collecting his millions this year if he were still here. He'd be headed to retirement, probably bitching about something on this team like KB getting the looks, and I don't need to conjecture this because he himself has expressed this sentiment the whole time in 2013. And no, I don't think he was deceptively trying to create sound bytes and media buzz for his own personal gain. If he actually was, then wtf is he doing playing football? He should be in the finance industry in that case.

What is the panthers' record with smith and his chipped shoulder wearing our jersey?

Cant be mad, he was done dirty. You'd be bitter too. Its not like he was here for 13 months. No biggie to me, but i think its too early for that trash talk......never kno what could happen in the comin weeks. Ravens could take a major slide......he could be eatin.....well, raven.

Have you seen the season we are having?

If anything, he should send Gettleman a thank you note for jettisoning him to Baltimore this late in his career. If you really think he would have made a difference here this year, you're crazy.

So... when he was in Carolina it was acceptable, ya know, Steve Smith being Steve Smith.  Ya know, flossin' and being like all cool and hip, as the kids say.  Now, he's moved to a different team and it's unacceptable?  Personal insults - bad father, arrogant, etc...Yep, hypocrisy.  It's awesome!

He is just making a fun comment on a horrible talk show.  He is an eccentric, flavor filled character.

Shrug it off, walk it off, whatever it takes to realize the most important thing about the Carolina Panthers is THIS Sunday, not last year.

It's impossible to know what difference it would have made if he were still here, if any. But considering the state of our franchise right now, it's undoubtedly going to be a topic of conversation, like it or not.

I have no problems with Steve, honestly I don't care what he says, what's done is done, he will retire a Panther and go down as one of our greatest players of all time. Simple as that.

I must say though that it is both funny and kind of sad to see the people here who go out of their way to talk endless poo about him while they honestly sound like they are trying to convince themselves more than anyone else. It's like the guy/girl who gets rejected/dumped and sees his/her ex happy with another person and doing well in life so they overcompensate and talk poo about that person while they pretend that they never wanted them anyway in the first place.

Gettleman is an asshole and deserves the public shaming. He ruined this team with his offseason "moves."

Part of me wonders if he's capable of being a GM. In the past he's just been a second chair guy with no consequences to his decisions. Now he's the one making the decisions and they have a real impact on the product we see on the field. He hasn't ever had to be "the guy" and be accountable. So far he's not handling it well.

anybody with a lick of awareness who watched steve smith's antics here knew they wouldn't appreciate it if they were directed at the panthers

also you should know that you're not the first sanctimonious toolbox to make this argument
