New strategy by Panthers front office and coaching staff: Let's all take dumps in Cam's mouth

I agree. Their jobs are on the line and this is damage control. Not sure if JR would actually fire them this year, but he should have DG finding an offensive minded HC and strong OC to replace them asap. I understand the idea of building a defensive team when Cam was an unknown and first coming into the league. It makes no sense now, not to build a team around this once in a generation talent.

If you suddenly find yourself with a special QB, then you build around him. Kuechly is a tremendous talent as well, but who builds around a linebacker and neglects their superstar QB? No one, that's who. Except the Panthers. This has really been ridiculous and the chickens are finally coming home to roost. Hopefully we don't lose Cam as a result.

First off Jr. prefers defensive guys and probably will again for head coach. With all the firepower in our division it is crazy not to have a strong defense and particularly the secondary.

Should we have done more for Cam this year. Absolutely because lets be real here cam is not a once in a generation guy in fact this years shows that he is effective when he has decent folks around him and he is not able to make up for obvious deficits unlike for example Wilson who has been much more effective with a crappy offensive line cam needs a good line and good Wrs and RBs to be effective. That isn't the knock that you nut hugged think it is on Cam it is just the truth. He has done well and exceeded expectations and is our franchise guy and we should build around him. Because he needs that help to be effective. And no some guys like Tom Brady for example have done a lot with a bunch of average or below players. So not every QB needs as much help as Cam does. That is one reason most people don't call him elite yet.

It's a learned thing here to be defensive about Cam because of the idiotic and skeevy criticism of him from the day we drafted him by a loud contingent. We're so used to defending him from absurd criticism from people like Grits and the guy who pied your post, that when he does have a bad game like on Monday, it's hard to let down the wall of defense and actually talk about his faults.

This is especially true when many of these "realists" and "rational" posters throw around terms like "nut hugger", "ball licker" etc. These terms are a red flag that tell us the posters are anything but rational or realistic, and furthermore they apparently have some sort of homophobic thing going on.

If you want your posts to be taken seriously, perhaps it would be wise to start by talking like an adult and not like someone hoping to graduate from the 9th grade later this year.

What I wouldnt give for Cam to throw this entire coaching staff under the bus.. Here is exactly what I would lovd Cam to say in his presser.

Joe Person: Cam, what do you think is wrong with this team?

Cam: Well, first and foremost I am to blame at times because of my bad decisions from time to time, so let me set the record straight that I am in no way free of any blame. Now with that said, the other problems we have right now is Mr. Rivera isnt taking enough chances, hes playing too conservative and doesnt trust this offense as a whole, next up is Shula, he also deserves blame for not being good at situational football whatsoever and lets not kid ourselves, our GM deserves blame as well for the dire situation at O line.

I dont care if its bad form, I dont care what the media would say. I will be perfectly honest, i still think Cam isnt a great QB, but if he just called out our coaches and GM on the record, my respect for him would sky rocket into infinity.

Why in the hell is Shula talking poo? What offensive coordinator calls out his starting QB saying he's not elite.

Cam should say Shula is not an elite OC but an Okay OC that calls redundant plays who's mental capabilities are that of a third grader.

I don't think anyone was bashing Shula for not thinking Cam is elite.  They're saying it was unnecessary to throw that in there.  By saying "even the elite guys", that is already excluding Cam from the group and I don't have a problem with that.  It's the unnecessary "and Cam's not elite" that rubbed people the wrong way.  Context doesn't change that.  Is this the worst thing Shula has done?  Not even close.  Not that big of a deal.  Compared to his job performance, this unnecessary side comment registers as much as a fart in the wind.

Cam is a tremendous talent. I think he's shown that his entire career including earlier this season. He's not Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers elite yet. But they are HOFers, first ballot HOFers. And a 4th year guy shouldn't be compared to them.

If you're gonna decide that he's an okay QB after one game, then you're not being fair. Especially considering how horrible the offensive line played. And don't forget the drops, tips and incomplete timing routes by his WRs. I've always called a spade a spade when it comes to Cam. Honestly didn't even want to draft him, I wanted AJ Green. But you can't deny his ability to do things that we've never seen QBs do. He's special. Does he need a dynamic supporting cast? Maybe? Does he need a competent supporting cast? Yes, he does. Monday night, he didn't have a competent supporting cast.

And as for Wilson. I really like him. But I don't think I'd take him over Cam. And to be fair, Wilson's oline, WRs and running backs are all-pros compared to what we have here in Carolina.
