New strategy by Panthers front office and coaching staff: Let's all take dumps in Cam's mouth

Gettleman stated clearly this year that Cam is the franchise quarterback and even took a swipe at Joe Person by adding "no seven second pause there".

Add that to Zod's knowledge of the inside. He's specifically called the GM's office 'a black hole from which no information escapes'. Highly unlikely any of this comes from there.

The coaching staff can be more loose lipped, but why would someone like Rivera or Shula speak anonymously? They have no need to, and 'off the record' discussions wouldn't be repeatable.

Basically, my read is that if we were to find out who the 'Panthers official' or 'trusted source' saying all these things actually is, it'll likely turn out to be someone not nearly as important as people think.

There is still the problem that someone is saying this stuff, though. The team needs to address that, pronto.

I will say though that I don't think it's anybody significant saying anything. Rosinski's "source" and by extension likely everyone elses is likely some intermediate ranking marketing puppet in the PR department or some other worthless relic from the Fox days put off by Cam's new fangled runnin nonsense and the way he smiles when he's supposed to be giving speeches!

Their jobs are on the line. It's that simple.

They wont be here next year. Cam will. It is also that simple.

I agree. Their jobs are on the line and this is damage control. Not sure if JR would actually fire them this year, but he should have DG finding an offensive minded HC and strong OC to replace them asap. I understand the idea of building a defensive team when Cam was an unknown and first coming into the league. It makes no sense now, not to build a team around this once in a generation talent.

If you suddenly find yourself with a special QB, then you build around him. Kuechly is a tremendous talent as well, but who builds around a linebacker and neglects their superstar QB? No one, that's who. Except the Panthers. This has really been ridiculous and the chickens are finally coming home to roost. Hopefully we don't lose Cam as a result.

they are dead wrong for saying this stuff. but they are saying what quite a few people are saying here, such as he thinks he has to carry the team, taking so many hits he assumes he will get killed every play, shell-shocked etc.

Even if they feel that way, they have no business saying it. Just like Cam would have no business calling out Byron Bell and friends publicly either. It's embarrassing. Cam Newton, the guy people like to say is an immature video-game-playing brat, has handled himself infinitely times better than these goons in the front office.

Unless this is coming down from Gettleman himself or with his blessing for reasons unknown.

i absolutely agree. it is disgraceful when it's more than obvious they(the coaches and staff) have failed the team in preparation every week.

If G-Man is apart of the problem, then I wouldn't be surprised if Cam LeBroned us. I'm a tad worried but I don't see Dave seeking a new franchise QB. It would set us back years... assuming we'd even find a stud or competent replacement.

I don't know if he is or isn't. But it would be pretty ballsy (think of it) of the normally spineless Rivera and Shula to be bad mouthing Cam through private channels, or throwing shade publicly, when you think of it.

Televisions around the world would be shattered if they drafted a QB in the 1st round next year.

Honestly, at that point, I'd wash my hands of this organization and sell every piece of Panthers gear I had to people right here on the Huddle

you would have to pay people to store it for you
