Norwell only lineman with a positive grade from PFF

OL wasn't that bad in 2010. Clausen would just flee the pocket. Notre Dame OL got irritated BC of the bad rep some gave them bc of his habits. Did a scent job run blocking too given the fact opponents stacked the box all day

True.  I seem to remember the scheme being terrible and them having similar problems ot this year (no adapting to blitzes, stunts, etc.).

Did we get a new o-line coach? I mean it looks like Amini is regressing if you asked me. I know he's coming off an injury, but he never got manhandles like this as a rookie. His mistakes were all mental with missed assignments. Now, he's getting steamrolled into our QB like a D3 college prospect trying to play in the NFL...

Everyone recognized the line got better when Silatolu was hurt and Norwell and Velasco were at LG. Yet he started and played all game. Just like he will next week, and the week after that.

Kinda like yanking Stew out after his TD and inserting DLo on the next drive. SMH at this coaching staff.

Last year he had Gross next to him who probably coached him up between plays & drives. Also, there's now more tape on him this year. Lots of reasons for a sophomore slump. That, however, still is not a good enough reason to keep him in as a starter this year. Not if they're staying with Bell. Not if they want to win.

I did notice that Norwell was the only lineman Gruden didn't call out by name. I'm glad it's for a better reason than Gruden forgetting his name.

It's freaking sad that it took the Philly game for ANYONE to even recognize just how awful the oline has been for us (including last year, only guy who was doing their job was Gross).

I STILL see enormous amounts of comments on other mediums who literally think his poor performance of late is entirely because he's a bust who can't pass or any have idea on how to read a defense.  Look I get it if you don't think he's elite, has inconsistencies with accuracy or isn't the greatest dissector of a defense.  Even without his mobility and those arguments, Cam if a FAR cry away from being a bad player.

We can't (or won't) even attempt to establish a screen game to tone down the pressure.  We can't protect him even with extra blockers.  Watch literally any other football game and other quarterbacks are getting at least an entire extra second before having to evade pressure (or they will actually be able to quickly step into a pocket, that's a very rare option for us).  We have no speedy options to keep a safety deep, or to get the ball out quickly in space.  Outside of Olsen, nobody is catching the good balls consistently.

Is Cam playing poorly and inconsistently?  Surely he is.  Is there anyone stepping up to bail him out when he's not playing great?  Absolutely not.

Yeah, but it's Amini's third season. He shouldn't need to be hand held anymore. And he's actually worse than he was as a rookie and the little of him we saw last season. Maybe it's just the injury, because he was never this bad.

You are right, it's his 3rd year. I think I forgot that because he was basically nonexistent last year. You don't get coached when injured. So it's just a slump, not a sophomore slump lol. I still don't think he's starter material yet. And I do think it's because Gross retired. Which is sad in itself.
