Panthers officials insist Cam Newton's MNF problems totally mental

I'm sickened to see this front office throw Cam under the bus like that. Maybe Smitty was right all along. How can any of you people defend this? Has Cam thrown one single goddamn player, coach, or FO guy under the bus this year? Not whatsoever.

Try, Ever!!

Cam has never thrown ANY Panther player, official or coach under the bus since he's been in Carolina.

I don't mind if either Luke or Cam get criticized at this point, except for Greg/K Ben there is enough blame to go around... the F/O...ownership..lack of $$...etc.

Cam hasn't played well and there are many reasons for that...but he got to find the answers, as does Luke. They both can change plays and demand more discipline from their team mates...Smitty isn't here to mix it up anymore and get in people's grills.

that being said, Cam is our QB and has more talent than Jake ever had...but Jake had been through the system and was mentally tough by the time he got here. Cam will have toughen up and start leading the team at some point...and I think it starts this weekend, he's can be an elite QB...and he knows it.

We had a super crappy season so far, but it's time for those that can lead to lead...and I mean practices/classroom/ mental toughness and start imposing our will on others...

Cam apologists are so damn infuriating. Yes, he does not have support around him. But this is not a reason for a professional athlete getting paid as much as he does to snowball the way he does and let his attitude spiral downwards during games.

I love Cam and he is undoubtedly talented, but ask yourself in the last few games if you truthfully think his attitude of "here comes another sack - play over" is truly acceptable?

Its not what we saw last year when he had more protection and yes he's still only 25. But personally I wish I could see him act like a leader and raise the players around him when things aren't going well, rather then become insular and let his attitude spiral which undoubtedly has an impact on the attitude of the rest of the team. This is what I think defines a franchise quarterback, someone who can mask the deficiencies in different areas of the field - its why teams pay these guys so much because they mask the need to pay the weaker areas of the team.

LOL... there's nothing more transparent and amusing than the "I love Cam BUT!!!!" crowd.

In tackles, about the most useless stat going.

Also, why doesn't he elevate the defense? A true leader makes those around him better. We've invested most of our value draft resources on his side of the ball. We have a well-respected, defensive HC. Hell, his unit ranks 25th in the league (same rank as our dumpster fire offense!). We can't use the "surrounding talent" argument, because we're throwing that out for Newton. Maybe Luke just isn't the leader we all hoped he'd be.

As stupid an argument I just made, we still have mouth breathing fugtards making dumber ones in regards to the QB.

Yes your argument is stupid.  No doubt about that.  Because without Luke this defense would be truly horrible instead of just plain bad.

The thing is we all understand they're coaching for their jobs so it shouldn't cause them to react the way they have.   I have a feeling it's just a loose, disorganized, and unmotivated locker room.  The coaches are stubborn, trying to make a lose-win situation out of a lose-lose for themselves at the players' expense.  That's pathetic.  They should try this approach called win-win next time.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
