If I am Gettleman, I am in the head trainers ear, suggesting they take a really really really long look at Cam Newton and err on the side of safety. Take it out of Rivera's hands. It is in Rivera's best interest to keep Cam in, but not necessarily the Panthers.

If Gettleman cared anything about Cam's health he wouldn't have made his terrible right tackle his terrible left tackle.

You replace Cam with Derek Anderson and the future of the 3-6-1 Carolina Panthers consecutive sell out streak looks bleak.

If Cam was 100% healthy, this obviously wouldn't be a choice at all.  If it was Luke that was injured, we'd probably be suggesting the same. Cam and Luke are the future of this franchise.
