IR Cam

If I am Gettleman, I am in the head trainers ear, suggesting they take a really really really long look at Cam Newton and err on the side of safety. Take it out of Rivera's hands. It is in Rivera's best interest to keep Cam in, but not necessarily the Panthers.

If you do that you are basically say Rivera we are firing you after this season. I really doubt they will do that even though he needs to sit. Honestly this is what you get when you hire a poor coach and let him have a long time to do bad.

Do we really have to be officially eliminated before admitting that this team is going absolutely nowhere? Seriously guys? With this sieve that We call our offensive line. Lol. I need whatever some of you guys are taking. The party's over. We are not competitive. If we miraculously make the playoffs we will once again be humiliated on national television. This is not the Seattle team that upset New Orleans several years back with their 7-9 record. There is no Marshawn Lynch on this team. There is no lineman opening up the holes for Marshawn Lynch on this team. There is no defense that can stop any respectable NFL offense on this team. There is no wide receivers with any speed that can create any separation with this team. There is no lineman that can give Cam Newton more than a couple seconds for his receivers to run their route on this team. There is a franchise quarterback who is half of what he normally is behind center. It's over. Enough with the glass half full bull crap. This is not even about the 2014 season anymore. This is now about 2015 and beyond. This is about not destroying the number one pick from the 2011 draft behind what might be the absolute worst offensive line that the NFL has ever seen. Thank You Rivera, gettleman, bell, Chandler, Amini and company. Edit. I forgot Shula lol.

Not sure Cam would succumb to the "David Carr" effect. Cam has played at a high level in the NFL and he knows he can play. Cam understands that it's his team mates and not him. 2 pro bowls in 3 years

David Carr was ruined from day one. Beaten into a pulp like a baby seal.

I don't think that "The David Carr Effect" is indicative of a player believing in his ability to play at a high level.

I think it's more because a player gets hit so early and so often, seemingly every single snap with Cam, that it hinders his development drastically and his ability to go through his progressions.

It looks to me like Cam gets absolutely hammered so often that even when there isn't pressure in his face, which again, is almost every snap, he is so used to getting hit that he gets rid of the ball with bad mechanics, no progressional reads, just flingin' it downfield.

I wholeheartedly agree that Cam should be IR'd for his health and his development. If DA comes in with this poo team an looks good, then maybe we can give some credibility to the people that think it's Cam that is the problem. If he looks like hot dogshit, then we saved Cam a beating and a shell-shocked psyche, and try to retool this thing for next year.

Why is David Carr's name coming up so much?

They are very different athletes first and foremost, but more importantly, different men altogether.

Let's be real here, we're talking about a quarterback who decided it was a good idea to wear all white gloves.

If they lose to Atlanta on Sunday.... will you come to the dark side?

Depends on what rest of NFCS does.

If we start to fall by the wayside I would reconsider benching or IRing him for his own safety.

As long as we are in it I keep playing.

We should start rooting for the Saints to pull away if u want to IR Cam.

The only "David Carr Effect" is that David Carr just sucked.

Cam has proven when given time and even average personnel he can be productive and at times exceptional.

David Carr just stunk.

exactly. there is no reason to bring his name into the equation, one guy is very good and the other one is and always has been a bum. if what people are suggesting is true, that he is "shell-shocked" or whatever then, I hate to say we need to move on, which I dont buy for a second anyway.

    • I don't know about you but I have been a life long Chiefs fan for the past 4 years.
    • Sure there's a ton of transplants in Colorado now. But as far as Denver in particular goes the Broncos have also been around for 65 years. Someone moving to Denver is going to be far more likely to become a fan of the Broncos and even attend games versus someone moving to Charlotte and the Panthers. Like I said it's not just one single thing with us it's multiple factors.
    • He's definitely getting better. It's fun to watch.  I've been getting killed for this take, but with the current state of college football, it just takes more time to develop a quarterback. I don't think it's a plug and play position anymore. I'm really not sure if it ever was. NFL offenses have always been substantially more complex than the college game, and the college game has simplified even more in recent years. Many college teams do not have a physical playbook anymore. That's just not the national football league.  Are there freaks who have success from day 1? Yes, without question. But so many of those guys are runners, and so many of those guys tail off. Is Bryce ever going to be Josh Allen? Probably not.  What I am seeing is a guy with complete command of the offense. He's checking into things at the line, making adjustments, and making timely throws.  He goes to David Moore a ton, because Moore is a consistent route runner. Bryce knows where he is and when he should be open. I think the guy with the "super processor" needs to be comfortable in the offense in order to do the "super processing." He doesn't have elite arm talent, and he is small of stature, but if he makes the smart play consistently, and he's willing to throw the ball downfield and not make mistakes, like he's starting to show, he's going to be a starter for a long time in this league, and it's not a position I'd spend draft capital right now.
