Two coaches will go, the rest will stay

OC and special teams coaches are both gone this off season. Rivera will stay no matter what the rest of the season brings. JR won't eat the money to drop Rivera plus pay a new HC. DC stays and tries to rebuild the defense along with the stoic one. Majority of the players let go and the core kept along with promising rookies. Another rebuild in the works. This season was a "perfect storm" of wasted cap money on one tag, injuries, and FA signings that flopped. Time to turn the page.

This doesn't make since. It's time for this team to clean house because nobody on this coaching staff is worth saving. JR is going to have to eat that money and pay a new coach. This team look so awful last night I was ashamed. We always get our butt kicked and I gotta defend this team in front of my Colts fan roommate.

Why does McDermott get special treatment? Is his unit not the worst?

no.I'd fire him as well. I'd fire the other two earlier. said in the "what would you do if you were the GM" thread that i would fire the OC his week. fire shula after the next loss. fire mcdermott the loss after that, then fire rivera if things didn't get better.

replace the ST coach with dehaven, replace shula with ramsdell, and give him complete control over the offense, including what to do on 4th downs.

if mcdermott is fired, hand the defense over to rivera and hire a retired/unemployed former HC and give the game management control over to him with the understanding that if things don't improve, rivera is done after the season.

if rivera turns things around and we get a winning record (which would probably be all that is needed to win the division) then require rivera to produce another winning season or else be fired.

give gettleman the rest of this season and next season to fix things. if they aren't fixed, then we fire him as well. everyone is on a short leash.

He has proven he can but together a good defense year in and year out. This defense wouldn't be *that* bad if they weren't constantly on the field and in terrible field position (not to mention the lack of DE and DB's). They offense stunk last year but at least they were able to grind out the clock with a decent run game giving the D a chance to breathe. Not this year.

Rivera and our DC can fix this defense with the right players. Rivera has proved he is a good DC in this league. They need to hire an OC that can handle the whole offense and take control. Rivera has no clue about proper offensive schemes.

Ron Rivera is an excellent DC.

He is a crummy head coach.  He should be fired.

Not on this team it isn't.

The game started at 8:30PM.  We got the ball to start the game.  In three offensive plays we had 2 turnovers.  By 8:41 we were down 10-0 and already beaten. In the course of the 1st half we then proceed to have a punt returned for a TD and another INT for a TD.  The D gave up one long drive for a score and gave up a total of 183 yards in the first half.  Philly should of had 7, maybe 14 points going into halftime.

This was a team loss, sure, but the D was backed into a corner from the get-go.  I'm not understanding the McD hate.  Was it his idea to let the whole secondary walk from last year?

Before this game.....we were bottom 4 in both yards and points allowed per drive.

D has looked a little better of late but they have had games where they looked like our offense last night has on the year

Dude, I get that, but this offense is so inept right now it's sickening.  I would be willing to bet we've lost more if not all of our games this year because of the play on the offensive side of the ball.  No, our D isn't as good as last year, but our offensive is even worse than last year, and we all know we had a great year last year in spite of our offense.  I trust the current coaching staff can fix the defense, I have no trust in them to fix the offense or ST for that matter.

NFL.com has Carolina ranked 25th is points scored and yards per game, 19th in passing yards, and 27th in rushing yards.  I would argue we're worse than 25th in points because since the Pittsburgh game, most of our points production has come in garbage time.

if we wait until the offseason, we've waited too long.

get rid of the OC and ST coaches and replace them with the old guys behind them.

if the team doesn't turn it around after that, fire rivera.

if we do keep rivera, he should be fired if we are more than one game under .500. if he makes it through next yar, then the same standard should be held. he should produce more than one winning seasons in a row. losing will not be tolerated, regardless of what happens the previous year.

i said it before and i will continue to say it...we gave him that extension one year too early. the standard should have been two winning seasons in a row.

I agree 100%.  Best way to wake up the HC and reamining staff is mid-sason firing.  That lets them know you are serious about the fact that they have to work for their jobs.

I agree with that.  Loss of Hardy and all secondary.  The guy doesn't have much to work with.  But the D still tends to put up a pretty good fight right up until the offense throws or fumbles the game away.  Then I think the D is just tired and feels hopeless.  Happens every week.
