Remember when in the second round, there was NO talent as good as what is on our team?

Here is the deal. Everyone keeps saying 'who should we have drafted in this draft to fix the line!??!?', 'who should we have picked up in FA?'.

Replacing Gross should have started many years ago. Building the line should have happened through years of drafting and development. You don't just draft a LT to replace Gross. This is not madden.

Prime example: Justin Britt was taken 4 picks after Ealy and is starting at RT for the seahawks. Ask yourself if Nate Chandler would even be on the seahawks practice squad. Gettleman was an idiot for trusting these tackles. He had two seasons worth of film on Bell sucking over on the right side and he knew Chandler wasn't very good last season and only played because literally everyone else got injured and yet he still elevated them to starting tackles. But I guess this is one of the reasons the seahawks won the super bowl and we look like the worst team in the league right now.

Right on Big H.  The homers are using Moses as their poster child.  Reality is that DG (and the Panthers)  ignored the gaping holes on the line.  Yes, they tried to bring in the guy from Cincinnati  but if it was that important, a good GM gets his man or fills it another way.  I believe that Panther mgmt. (not just DG)  truly believed the storyline that the answer was already on the roster, even after a year of gametape said otherwise.  DG probably thinks that every team has a few Victor Cruz just waiting to be discovered.  Perhaps he is jaded from his time with the Giants.  However, help was available in free agency and the draft, and we passed.

On another note ... are we really that surprised with what's happening?  The only surprise is that we are still within a game of being on top of the NFC South.

going after ealy here is puzzling

yeah i mean maybe he wasn't the absolute perfect pick in that round but he's shown the kind of flashes you want to see out of a rookie DE

Puzzling?  It's down right idiotic, if you ask me.  If people would watch him for 2 mins per game, they could see he has plenty of promise for the future.  I can think of less than a handful of DE's that made a significant impact over their first couple of seasons.  Ealy is looking pretty darn good to be thrown to the wolves, as he has.
