Smart people realize that Anderson, outside of one fluke season he made the pro-bowl when half of the AFC quarterbacks turned it down, isn't very good. Also, how big a difference would a change at QB make when Byron Bell is just going to get rag-dolled back over the QB's shoulder .6 seconds after the snap or ignore the DE and block his own LG into the ground, right?

Personally I think DA needs to start next week.. this is not to say Cam sucks its to give him a break.. dude is about to go postal.. he needs a break and a bunch of chickas..I think DA can handle Atlanta as they play about as well as we do plus its a divisional match..So Anderson should be familiar with ATL..

Cam no. Everyone readily does it for him. I just wonder why he doesn't sit if he is supposedly so hurt. And if he is such a franchise option and so injured why we don't protect our guy. Explained already elsewhere I really don't get anything out of the forum highfives and actually bitching about something as trivial as a football game is not something I'm really proud of so the forum really serves a purpose.

I do lurk in the good times and especially in the offseason. With a recently turned four year old I under my feet nowadays I don't have near the time to go on for pages about the possibility of a backup journeyman LT being released like I used to.

I thought he was a fraud coming in and I am convinced I was right.

He has pretty much spun me like a top since he arrived in Charlotte. I have gotten drunk on the koolaid and cursed him mercilessly back and forth. He keeps making me eat my words and I guess secretly I hope he does so again.

Right now I'm at the far other end of the spectrum though and it hurts even more since I have seen flashes of what could be. I just do not think it is possible and I think it's all mental. He clearly has everything else so what could it be?

i dont know your age but most of the older crowd agrees with that sentiment. and i understand the old age vs new age debate and what is "expected" of a franchise qb. cam annoys me and at the same time he is a breath of fresh air just depends on how i take things.

 

i've seen Cam make veteran qb reads, audibles, ect. I think he still struggles with some mental aspects but at the same time there were many and i mean many times last year and this year where i was astonished at how polished he looks in the pocket. He is still only 25 years old with one year of college experience. We have done no favors to him building around him. asking a qb who is going into his fourth year to work with slop is going to have mixed results in hindsight. I was in agreeance with gettlemans moves this offseason because honestly i expected too much of this kid too early. I thought his athletic ability could mask our deficiencies at o-line while also keeping that beastly front 7 intact. things have obviously not gone as planned with hardy and cam's injuries/surgeries. i mean we have two of the worst tackles in the league, an average/to below average playcaller when adversity strikes and his mold of game doesn't go as planned, and lack of any explosive wr minus KB (who isn't necessarily explosive). we expect to much. i expected too much from him.

 

hes not gonna be tom brady, peyton manning, or drew brees. and none of those qbs became what they became after 3 1/2 years.  it's not his skill set. But his skill set should be coached and have plays called that match that skill set and we can go far with him because of it. we are not doing that to help him develop and help him gain confidence and chemistry. we stripped it down this offseason. and i expected too much out of the guy. 

 

But I think confidence is key here. And what keeps me optimistic about him and people talking about the shell-shocked and david carr nature of this season is Cam has TONS of confidence in himself. It will save his career after this year imo. and i still believe we are lucky to have him.
